can somebody explain to me exactly how this concept works? I understand it's for the 6th and 7th place teams, but don't really get the purpose or structure.

the 6th place team of one conference plays the 7th place team of the other conference in a best of 3 series. The 6th place team gets the first game at home, as well as the third game tiebreaker

The loser of the relegation series gets sent down a division (so, to D5 if you relegated). That makes space for newly promoted teams. Relegation comes with a strong penalty to fan interest and attendance. It is to be avoided if at all possible.

fighting relegation here. got the #1 team in my bracket at home tomorrow night. Right now, enthusiasm level is encuraged. have been playing TIE for the past two or three games. Currently sit in 7th place in the bracket. Should I step it up a bit tomorrow night and go with CT or Normal? Or should I stay at TIE level? The game, by the way, is not a TV game.

I would TIE for the future man. I say that chances of winning on encouraged (6) enthusiasm on Normal is negative 100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000% chance you'd win. On CT still it's pretty slim to none. So I would just lose on TIE and wait for the next game on saturday and try to win there. Either that or risk yourself losing enth. and a game if you want to CT Cause then you'd have 3 enth and it'd take a while for the enth to come back (like 3 games or something like that)

I agree with tough, u should TIE all the games u know u cant win. That way ull have high enth to take a team u wouldnt normally win, but will with high enth. When u play a team u can probably win then do normal, CT only when u have no other option as it will mess up ur enth...
