I have been advised that this may be a bug. I have a 20-year-old player, Cody Zahra (25473958), who has atrocious experience. Here are his minute totals:
916.7 League minutes
111.0 Playoff minutes
247.9 Cup minutes
652.8 Scrimmage minutes
He is an original player from my team. Could someone please confirm if his experience stat is increasing?

I don't think it's a bug, I think his player just started with a very low sublevel of experience.

First, I don't think scrimmages really mean much. I doubt they contribute much to experience gains.

Secondly, I have a 20 year old player who needed ~1200 minutes of league, Cup, and playoff games in order to pop from 1 to 2 experience. That would corroborate Manon's recollection of 1300 minutes.

Scrimmage and Cup games are treated the same, they are worth more then League games. I'm not sure about Playoff games, though.

I read where they gave Scrimmage and Cup games the same value, because of coding issues, since they are both on the same day.

Hmm, I've never come across the scrimmage = cup in terms of experience, but seems possible. That only makes my particular player even crappier in terms of his starting experience sublevel! BOO!

That theory is wrong. Scrimmages are not the same as cup matches. I won't reveal any more though.

Only games provide experience, the exact scaling of which I do not want to reveal, as figuring that out should be something for the users to "crack" ;)
