JS affects inside shots, so it certainly affects big men in LI offense. PF/C will also take mid range jump shots that are open in LI. On the other hand JR only affects 3pt attempts so it is basically worthless (PFs can use it sometimes but its rare).

Wozzvt did statistical analysis on a database of players and play by play which gave a rough estimate of how much each skill affects each shot type. It shows that 2pt jumpers are pretty much only JS (with DR and EXP probably affecting shot selection) and that JS is a factor on constested non-driving inside shots.

Do you have any evidence for this statement? Because game manual says something different.

I'd say pretty close to the cutoff between C/PF is best for both positions, perhaps a bit higher for PF. It's a skill that is a really great value when it's free, but once a player turns PF additional points cost a lot and its probably not worth it (although a few points over isn't bad).

It depends on the build.

For PFs, one level in JS costs ~70% as much as one level in IS/ID/RB. For a C, JS is a free skill. So the level of JS largely determines whether a player is a PF or C (position is determined by whichever position formula gives him a higher salary). By cutoff, I mean the point where a tiny amount of JS will change the player from being a C to a PF or visa versa. It will scale with the level of his inside skills.
