There is a deadline. Players have to be bought before (I think) 9 am eastern time on the Sunday right after the last league game to be eligible for playoff and relegation matches

draft questions are already there actually, since this season we had the draft list a long time before the asg
The two last seasons we had the draft list available only when the 2 draft options were available
