Before you start wondering about the title, let me tell you what is all about:

I have a trainee Which im training for a future role as a starter in this division/ backup in higher levels.

Now im looking to promote and my team has a big deficiency in Free Throws, the team is shooting a measly 60% and my main players are not good at it.

My question is, should i continue to train my trainee for what is the rest of the season/playoffs or should i adress the team need by training ft's

here is my trainee skills:

Game Shape: average
Jump Shot: respectable Jump Range: awful
Outside Def.: proficient ↑ Handling: respectable
Driving: strong Passing: average
Inside Shot: atrocious Inside Def.: strong
Rebounding: atrocious Shot Blocking: respectable
Stamina: average Free Throw: strong

Experience: atrocious

If this is Costa, i probably would advise you to look back at some of your centers and maximize your value on costa by TL'ing him. Getting your inside men to a better place while collecting money will allow you to make the move for a better trainee or better veteran next season, whichever route you choose to take.

The biggest reason i suggest this is i don't feel that at star potential that you are going to get much more than a standard D.III to above average D.IV player out of him, and i think you can get much more out of your training than a guy that caps in this sort of spot. And thats coming from a guy that really pushes for people to learn how to develop talent before going full blow compete mode only with 31-33 year old veterans. I think you could easily net a good return for this player, and i think you could spend a fraction of that return on a 27-33 year old that can provide you solid bench minutes at both guard positions, allowing you to be more productive over the course of a game short term, and allowing you to focus on spending perhaps several hundred thousand on a higher quality product (veteran or 18 year old) going into next season.

You could choose to continue working on your bigs, as they will still get good pops for a the next few weeks, and perhaps going into next season. or you could dump your trainer back to a cheaper trainer and train FT.
