At first I thought it would be strategic this season for me to focus mostly on training and arena, even though my team is capable of promoting to Thai NBA league... However, I think I'm going to try to promote anyway just for fun. Is there any real advantage to promoting at this point? Attendence is higher, but that won't make that much of a difference because my arena is only 8500 right now. I'm guessing I'll promote, demote, and then promote and make serious competition.

You should know that training will become a little more difficult
match ups will be key
if your player is in over his defensively than he will endure more fouls,
fouling out and not always making it to 48 minutes
not a problem if you're training 2 guys but if it's 3...

And BTW...which players are you training?
You should really look into getting some better ones

I'm training Nontipat Intharapradit right now. He's growing quick, although he doesn't have the best potential... if i were to get a better trainee, what kind of player should I look for? Here are his stats, just to get a good idea of where his training has led...

Jump Shot: respectable Jump Range: average
Outside Def.: proficient Handling: average
Driving: respectable Passing: strong
Inside Shot: awful Inside Def.: pitiful
Rebounding: respectable Shot Blocking: atrocious
Stamina: respectable ↑ Free Throw: respectable

You should look for players with potential of perennial allstar or above , speaking from experience , allstar as well is okay but if he is a lower allstar sub level he will cap quite early in terms of salary (30k for guards). Look for some cheap guys that are 18 and having nice starting skills , for guards at least average in jump range and outside defence is a must , you just cant afford to spend a season training these skills to an acceptable level. Also try to avoid players with gaping holes such as 1 IS or 1ID , if the player has any holes make sure they are on a quick to train skill such as driving or handling. Also , the lower your players potential is , try to get a player with lower rebounding , as this eats away at the cap , and you dont want to waste valuable cap space on a player with allstar or perennial allstar potential.
