Hi folks,

I`m just wondering what the difference is - in game - between low post and look inside in terms of offensive tactics. Obviously low post decrease`s the pace but I wonder what effect that actually has during the game. Is it simply a matter of lower scoring games and fewer shots because of the decreased pace. I`s also be interested in hearing what you think is the best between the two.

Look Inside is better.... Than every other tactic. The only reason you would want to play low post instead of look inside is if you were playing a much stronger team who also plays look inside. This is because low post is slower paced which tends to favor the weaker team.

In LI more shots are distributed to C/PF/SF
In LP more shots are distributed to C/PF.

basic instruction:

Low post:
-need good passing team
-good vs bad outside defense
-team with better C/PF

Look inside:
-good IS
-guards with good driveing
-good vs strong OD

you forgot to mention that you also need good passing to run LI, either you can fail even with very good IS.

Ofcourse passing is welcome on every tactic,but still,most importent on slow tempo of tactic..like LP

since LP is a slower offense,hence it will work like all slower offenses.picking out your best inside shooter and giving most of the shots to him.ofcourse for that you need good passing on all of your players.
LI is fast so the game is not majorly centered around your best inside shooter but is more evenly distributed between your players.
LP would tend to give away more TOs as the team would hold the ball for longer and the chances of steal would increase as the number of passes would also be high.
I might be wrong on this one but LI uses the driving of your guards much more than LP does.
this is what I think is the difference between LI and LP.
the best is only according to the situation-
if you have a stupendous inside shooter with no other player being wondrous or higher and you want to run an inside offense then LP would be a better option for you.but if IS is more evenly distributed in your team then LI would be a better option.
moreover if you are facing a zonal defense then LI is better.

Many of you said that B3 managers are preferably using Look Inside. However, 2-3 zone would do the job for the defence, right?

Patient: This offense is the exact opposite of push the ball. It uses a decreased pace instead of an increased pace. It is generally used against stronger teams in order to try to keep the score as close as possible since there will be less possessions in the game. The same goes for all decreased pace offenses.

I wonder whether Patient would be a better choice. Patient strategy is in decreased pace and less possessions, hence less TO and better FG%. Also, the strategy would rely on the best shooter(s), which may suggest the strategy looks for the weakness of the opponent, so it's hardly to defend. The opponent has to choose which defence tactics, maybe 3-2 or M2M against patient, depends on the best shooter position (guard, forward or centre).

Due to such uncertainty on defence tactics, would Patient be a better selection? Why do managers prefer look inside?
