This thread is for debating. Anybody may post here as many times as they would like, but keep away from personal attacks. You can find the complete election rules in (2248.1) and the official speeches thread in (2334.1)

Moderating will likely be stricter during election times as we have seen from other online games that things can get of control pretty quickly.

Is anyone in Canada thinking of running for the NT-coach position? I'm a newbie so it just doesn't make sense for me to run. How do we get the experienced managers interested?

So far, only one speech has been made:

vote for me if you want this nt team to do good.. i will try my best to take this team to the ships... i would play players that wanna win.i would get the best out of the players on the team. team canada has what it takes to go all the way. all they need is me some thats goin to make them play there best. vote me if you want team canada to go all the way [team=XXX] [match=XXX].

Personally, I'm hoping for something better. This guy has been around for less than a season and managed to win just a couple more games than he lost. The country must have some better options out there.

Moved to this thread:

Just one question for oeuftete. You have certainly helped Canada out a lot in HT, there is no disputing that. However, sometimes your schedule gets really busy and you're not able to put the time in. Have you cleared your schedule for the next two seasons of BB?

I'm honestly not sure what you're referring to here. Can you be more specific?

For example, as I understand it you are responsible for the Canadian U-20 site. It needed some updates this season so it went offline for a while. Everyone I talked to said you were really busy this season so you did not have time to look at it.

Please correct me if I was misinformed.

I'm not saying that you do not have a right to be busy. I'm just asking if that period is over and you will be able to concentrate full time on the BB NT.

A somewhat related question: will you give up your NT involvement in HT or do you think you can manage both?

I'm responsible for the Canadian U20 site insofar as I voluntarily wrote it and maintained it for 8 HT seasons (roughly 2.5 real-life years for the non-HTers). I was in fact very busy when the abrupt HT changes made it necessary to make some major modifications. Now, it's a matter of dwindling interest. I still may make the necessary updates, but my self-interest is low, and the current Canada U20 coach moved on quickly to another solution, so there's little incentive to prioritize that work. I'm having more fun doing other things in life, including BB.

A somewhat related question: will you give up your NT involvement in HT or do you think you can manage both?

Per what I wrote above, I have no current NT involvement in Hattrick.

Excellent. You have my vote, then (for what it is worth).

I love how a lot of the speeches say that they're "all over this site". If so, why is the Canadian forum so dead?

Another interesting point - why do we have no debate going on?

It seems that the users in Canada have not been so active as compared to other countries. Other than Molson and myself, I am not sure how many users have been actively managing their teams the past two seasons. As a result, there is not too much to talk about.

By my count, we now have 6 users running for the NT coach position. All of them are claiming to be active users. However, other than you, oeuftete and uflorin, none of them are active on the forums. And only oeuftete is running.

I haven't been around long so I do not know Molson.

My belief is that you have to be active on the forums to be considered an active user. I'm not going to vote for someone if he only shows up at NT-election time.
