Hi folks,

I would like your thoughts on something that I have been considering doing for some time. Some of you are going to think that I am crazy to contemplate this but there is a very good reason for my thoughts. Firstly, let me say that the single biggest thrill that I get from Buzzerbeater is buying trainees and training them to become really good players.

The core of my roster is pretty set now and therefore, apart from buying to sell, I haven`t done much player development. This has led to me losing some interest in the game during the past couple of seasons. I have been just picking my team but not doing much else. I don`t want to lose my interest in my team any more so I am seriously considering selling my three top players, Lebert, Hennesey, and Granell thus losing my core and re-building my team. I know that it will cost me wins and it will take me time to build up once again but as I stated earlier I love to train and develop players, it is the main reason why I love this game. Searching for those great trianees, watching them improve on a weekly basis and seeing them become starters then becoming dominant players because of the way that I train them excites me more than winning games and getting promotion.

I wonder if any of you have done this and can share any of your experiences with me or if any of you have any general thoughts about this. Before you respond and maybe tell me I`m crazy please remember that developing players is the thing I love to do the best and I am thinking of gutting my roster and re-building because my interest has begun to lessen in recent seasons. I look forward to reading your thoughts.

Scipio

I agree with you. One of my favorite parts of the game is to train and develop players. And if you are losing interest in BB and want to tank, then more power to you. In fact, I decided to do the same thing a couple months back. The problem that some top tier team make is not training young players and buying old grandpas. I think rebuilding your team would be a great project.

Love training more than anything else but..
You can train and win, quite the juggling act.
You need to purchase trainees with skills, not 18 year olds.
They need Defensive skills to compete and not foul out
perhaps the challenge you're looking for

Thanks guys. Just put my best player, Aldo Granell, on the market. Time to re-build and start a new project.

My team is based on my own drafted trainees, atm have 5 of them. 2 pg's 30-40k salaries, polishing them this season, and 3 young prospects for sf/pf/c pozitions with very, very solid outside skills (future center already has 13 passing, and plan is to get 16:D) It is really fun to train. After some time you can combine winning and training. But sometimes its headatche, especially when u need to combine winning and off-pozition training. My goal is to have whole team of my own draftess, and hopefully ill have it very soon. This way of playing this game is really fun.

Great reply, thanks. I would also like to have a starting five of my own trained players. It would be great. It`s nice to see that other people love to train as much as I do. I`m certainly going to re-build my roster and sell my best players.

I made it to Div I while training my same 3 guys all the way
only lasted one season but those guy are just about ready now
ready to start the next faze of trainees
How about last week, I had 7 players with 48 minutes in JS
didn`t get a single JS pop and the players are
18-18-19-21-22-24-26 year old (bought 2, that`s why 7)
wait until next week
fitting them in and trying to win as well is a blast

Training is the best thing in this game, and getting your players from a scrub to level where they can actually win games is a blast...

I am on a winning streak at this moment, but also train players at the same time...=)))

Absolutely 100% agree. Throwing out a standard lineup game after game doesn't really do much for me, but when you're trying to figure out how to hide your trainees against good competition so that you can get them up to eventually play for you is a great exercise.
