I constantly wonder how some of my players match up to other players their age at their position. I think it might be fun if there were some kind of offseason or all star break competition thing that essentially pools players by position and age for a 1 on 1 tournament.

Poll:  Would this interest you?

Hellz yeah
Nope
Somewhat
I don't see the point

Thought of this after the poll and all that but how about as a way to help calculate individual position rankings for each player

Not sure I understand exactly what you're suggesting. You're saying we could have some kind of ranking that would say "Player X is the 43894th best SG in Buzzerbeater and the 3463rd best SG playing in the US", is that the idea? I guess it doesn't hurt anything, but I don't really see the point. In most cases it won't tell you much. In bbtools (the site is currently down) you can rank the best players in a given country, or look at the best under 21, but besides that there's not much use for a ranking. Having the 1000th best guy or the 1500th best really doesn't tell you much at all. To see if they're better or worse than the guys you're facing in your next league match you already have salaries, ratings, stats, etc

I'm sorry, I didn't get what you meant. Are you replying to me or to the original suggestion?

My mistake. Thought you were someone else.

If you remember me, then I don't care if everyone else forgets.

I don't find salary a good indicator. My 7700guard constantly outplays 15-35k guards

Are the 15-35k guards worse than respectable GS?

That's means you're getting good value for money ;) Are those other guards in bad gameshape? Sometimes players can have high salaries by being one-dimensional (e.g. having huge JS and nothing else). Maybe your guy has nice secondary skills. Can you post links to some of those games you're mentioning?

In any case, I'm sure you understand that this has to be the exception and not the rule. Imagine that you're given two "blank" players and you can choose their skills. With a salary of 35k you can, in general, build a much better player than with less than 8k in salary.

others he comes off bench, too hard to track it all with only a 4 hour window till I wake up for my next shift.
