Hi folks,

I am hoping that some of you can help me with my arena income. I am top of my league with a 9-1 record and doing very well but all season long my arena attendance has been around 45-48%. This means that my income is lousy. I haven`t raised my ticket prices for a couple of years and so I can`t figure out why my attendance, therefore my income is so low. I can`t remember having attendances this low before.

Should I reduce ticket prices in the hope of earning more money via larger attendance even though I haven`t touched my ticket prices for a long time. If I had increased them I could understand such low attendances. Maybe you could take a look at my arena and prices and give me some advice.

I look forward to hearing some of your ideas.

Many thanks

Scipio/Mark

I am not sure what the average arena income is for D3 leagues in England, but I will give it my best shot. You also might want to compare your arena prices with that of your leaguemates and other countrymen in D3. For the most part, your bleachers prices are a bit high, as your attendance has only been at ~50% capacity. I suggest lowering them to $9.

Next is your Lower Tier. The fact that your attendance in this area isn't higher tells me that it is also too high. According to public opinion, the Lower Tier is the part of your arena where attendance will remain stable during wins and losses, if you are having a good season. My price would be $35, but you may have to go as low as $32.

The courtside is alright, but could be better. I don't have too much expertise in this area, so someone may be able to help you better here. I think anywhere from $100-110 might be enough to get you past 200.

And then there are your Luxury Boxes. $900 is my estimate here.

Take a look at your leaguemates Beanheads.

Bleachers : 15000 (Current Price: $10) (Price as of 1/26/2013: $10)
Lower Tier : 1250 (Current Price: $40) (Price as of 1/26/2013: $40)
Courtside Seats : 250 (Current Price: $120) (Price as of 1/26/2013: $120)
Luxury Boxes : 20 (Current Price: $700) (Price as of 1/26/2013: $700)
Total Capacity : 16520

Another one of your leaguemates, ...Davids All-Stars..., has a smaller arena, but his prices give him more attendance.

Bleachers : 10600 (Current Price: $9) (Price as of 1/26/2013: $9)
Lower Tier : 1600 (Current Price: $30) (Price as of 1/26/2013: $30)
Courtside Seats : 500 (Current Price: $70) (Price as of 1/26/2013: $70)
Luxury Boxes : 20 (Current Price: $600) (Price as of 1/26/2013: $600)
Total Capacity : 12720

His prices are similar to yours, but he hasn't lost since December 8th. Arena pricing and size is a part of the game where you have to have the right balance to make the most profit. Another factor is the fans and the Fan Survey. Fans on BB have a very short memory, so when you lose a close game against a better team on the road, for example, they get mad and start giving you 1/2 balls on the survey :)

To reiterate, stop building bleachers and build some Lower Tier seats, lower prices, compare your arena to others in your Division, and win games.

The biggest factor is that you got relegated, so you lost a large number of season ticket holders and your fans are going to be massively displeased with you for pretty much the entire season. But yes, you should definitely lower ticket prices.

Thanks for all the responses guys, I`ll research some more and initiate changes this evening.

I only have a level 1 PR manager. Do PR managers actually make much difference? Some people say yes, some say no. Maybe I should get a new PR manager. What level would you recommend?

Cheers.

IDK how England and the USA compare, but for us, a Level 2 PR Manager suffices fine. Unless you plan to promote this season. Then Level 3 would be better.

I'll go with hrudey. Take a look at tthe numbers when you were still in D II. The last two games I can see you sold 7900 and 8700 bleachers respectively at $12. You can't expect the same numbers or even better at the same price when you just got relegated to a lower division. Granted, you got a 9-1 record, but the relegation penalty is pretty tough. It might wear off a little bit after the allstar break.
I see you already adjusted the bleacher prices. I would recommend lowering the other prices as well, since you are far from selling out those sections.
