I noticed today that we have dropped down to only 30 teams in Scotland! That's less than two divisions :( This got me thinking...would it possibly be more beneficial to create a UK BB league and amalgamate the Scottish, Welsh and English leagues. The Welsh league only has 7 teams! Surely this would create a more interesting prospect for new and old BB teams. I know I would love a chance to trump the top English teams.

With regards to the respective NT's, it would be nice to keep them autonomous, especially with the success we have had climbing the ranks recently. But, with a GB team we would have the opportunity to give some of our Scottish players the chance to compete with the best in the world.

Tis just a little thought I had while procrastinating instead of writing an essay. I am intrigued to see whether you guys think this would be beneficial or detrimental to the game.

Whether the BB's would allow it, that is another matter.

Dude, you're totally right, and, as far as I'm aware, the BBs are aware of this and considering adjustment. This idea (albeit suggested by other small nations) has been banded about the forums for a few years now. I don't see many negatives from it tbh, and there are ways to keep the NTs separate still.

I actually like playing in a small league.

If I was better at this game then I'd be all for testing myself against more managers, but I'm not!

I certainly wouldn't support a "Team GB" where the NTs were merged. Would kill all interest in the U21/NT from me.

I'm with you on the 'Team GB' thing, I think it is important to keep the NT's separate. Training a player up and seeing them compete in the NT is one of the most satisfying parts of this game and a GB team would only dilute this.

But I would definitely like to play in a more competitive set up with several tiers of teams. It would add an extra element to the game, making it more competitive and it would also create a more beginner friendly environment. Any new team in Division 2.1 will be at a stark disadvantage compared to a team starting in Division 3, 4 or 5 elsewhere.

Most people want to be competitive from the start, patience is not a virtue held by most new members of this game unfortunately.

There would be some serious questions to answer on how they could structure and set up a GB league though. I suppose they could just create the league's ranking everyone by their World Ranking? Or possibly a teams average turnover to discount for the advantage Scottish teams have playing in a smaller set up?

Either way, it would be very hard to keep everybody happy in the short term but it would be beneficial in the long term.

I would fully back a GB league with separate NT's....... It always disappoints me when you play against CPU managed teams in the 2nd tier because there isnt enough managers that stick with it
