are you able to write a short message??
however people train their players by the way they think is most convenient.. if a person trains his player in a particular way you can't say him: "IF you aren't gonna play the funky lineup game to play guys out of position so they can train in secondary skills, don't train".
you are not the omniscient God of BB

(Don't forget us noobies who don't know how to train properly...)
Speaking of which, let's say I wanted to train a guard, by this logic would I train IS/ID/RB/SB in the first years and then OD/PA/HA/JS/DR/JR in the latter years?
Conversely if I wanted to train a big, would I train OD/JS/PA/HA/DR in the initial years and then IS/ID/SB/RB in the latter?
As you can probably tell from my post, there isn't exactly a conglomerate of guides or how-tos when it comes to training. The only thing that is there to guide us (me in this case) is the guide to BB written by Philosopher Kings and links he gave with it. They all state the primaries, secondaries, and tertiaries. By logic (someone new to the game) primaries seem to be the most important, better train them up! If I can get the most important skills up the highest, then I can do the best!
This leads to less and less rounded out players. I never even knew secondaries were important until halfway through my second season of BB (or third). Now I am trying to train a good SF (most likely) but there's really not a lot of specifics. I also just found out a few day ago about there being mentors in BB. Never knew about that!
Point is, I think that if the new players had better access to the information rather than in a random post in the help thread (a thread that, let's be honest, not many people dig too deeply into), it would lead to newer players being better informed about how to train which leads to a general increase in the quality of players on the TL

so remind me again who are u that u say to people what they should do?(i am training secondarys but who cares)
players without secondaries are NOT useless,u know there are lower leagues(maybe not in japan but croatia have 4 leagues, usa 5 i think, same goes for italy as much as know,u got the point) and there are u-21 NTs,every player cant be NT 1st league starter with 200k salary.last season u-21 serbia won WC while their starting C had 2 PA,their PG had 1 IS.
why somebody in 4th division wouldnt train primary skills, without secondarys?i know a guy whos training Cs only and his training primary skills only, the guy after 5 seasons in BB have very stable roster in 2nd division,im talking about croatia, not japan or tadjikistan league.TRAINING IN ANY POINT IS NOT WASTING MONEY AND FOR SURE ISNT BREAKING PLAYERS-ITS MAKING THEM BETTER.
but whatever i guess u have your logic(prop cause u never played in 3rd or 4th div) and i have mine.(before u call me noob just a notice-im here from 4th season,with a break from season 13 to 17.)

You don't have to train ID/IS/RB/SB for guards for several years in a row at a young stage.
This:
a) causes you to miss the fastest times to train up his actual guard skills
b) causes you to lose many games from playing him out of position
Instead:
a) train 2 bigs along with your 1 guard and play your guard during cup/scrimmage weeks
or
b) using your schedule, when you have a week with 2 easy games you will win regardless/2 hard games to will lose regardless/1 of each... use that week to train IS/ID/RB/SB for your 3 guard trainees
If you remember me, then I don't care if everyone else forgets.

would a 3rd or 4th div player buy a C with 3 JS and 3 in PA? yes he would and he would get away with that without problems.
do u need a JR on C? no,do u need 20 on driving? i think not.
do u need PA over 7,8 absolutely not.
u took most extreme cases where people train only IS,ID and RB while all other skills are on 1-ofc u dont want that kind of player, but normal draftee ALWAYS have at least something in secondarys too.

I think you guys shouldn't take Wolph that literally; I think he's doing a good thing giving new players some advice. Now as with almost every advice that tries to change a view, it will be a bit exaggerated to prove a point. Don't take it too litererally, just try to get the point he's making, which is a good one; don't forget to train secondaries. He elaborates on that by giving more advice, that when training secondaries it's best to do it first, and then the primaries.
If everyone falls on the way he gives the advice, it will fall on deaf ears for others who read it and that could use the advice. Now I do agree that in general, good information/advice is hard to come by for new players. When I started I read the Guide to Buzzerbeater which was very helpful to get started, but it was only after I dug deeper in the help forums and played with the salary calculator when I started to understand how to play the game properly. The thing that puzzled me most is that searching the forums is a supporter-only function... Do we really need to advocate double posting the same questions over and over again as I imagine will happen?
So a suggestion; maybe a "Request mentor" button should be implemented, and experienced managers could volunteer to be a mentor and maybe get some kind of rewards for helping players through their first season (maybe add milestones for reaching the playoffs/finals, promoting, selling a player for X amount, building arena to certain stages etc). The requests will be redirected to mentors from the same country who then can accept it on first come first serve basis. That could really help new players, and give older players something extra to play for (coaching your new player and getting milestones/rewards for it would be worth it for me for example).
I'll post it in the suggestions forum if I get some good feedback here.
