I am having trouble letting any of these guys go but more then likely I am going to be in D.III so I should restart training or keep some of these and do one position training. I know that passing needs to be trained. I know I could also keep training them but my future in D.III looks really short so not sure to sell these guys (should not be too bad of a profit) or to keep them and go to one position training (buy a really good sg in D.III). So what are your thoughts?

Personally... I'd keep the 21 year old, sell the other 3, buy a new one with higher OD and passing. Then get some trainees for 1-pos training. Also, during this time with money left solidify depth and/or strengthen a weaker spot on your forwards if you have one.

Lets line up skills. I'm going to list 12+ as + for my own purposes here.

+/6/+/+/11/7 4/4/2/5
+/7/+/+/11/8 4/5/6/3
11/7/+/9/11/8 5/4/1/1
8/7/9/9/8/6 6/2/2/7

The 18 year old to me is worth keeping, if for no other reason than to evade the high purchase period that we have coming up in a week or so on the 18 year olds, in which he'd be 19. In addition, he already has the high SB and decent IS. ID will need to increase a few times, but he has time.

The 2nd player to me isn't worth much. He needs to gain a few IS to be a player. the IS difference of 4 versus 8 to me is almost a 10% jump in D.IV, and probably 4-5% there on. He'll be 22, that'll be a lot of time. You can just play him as a guard while you train inside skills.

The 1st players potential is his major letdown. I don't think much of 6 potential guys as long term options. On top of that, he needs 3-4 IS soon.

The 3rd player has higher potential, but SB'ing is less than desired, he'd have to almost be a PG.

The key factor here is you have 3 guys at 6 potential. Guys like this require better secondaries than what they have now because they cap out so much earlier.

Your arguing for training inside skills? Why they are not going to be defending inside. I consider ID and IS more as tertiary skills for a guard not secondary. Secondary would be JR, DR, and HA.

IS on a guard is looked at more as a secondary, and is basically free.

If I were to sell all but one to go to 3 position training, which one should I keep as the 3rd trainee? Also what level do I need to get in order to have good quality guards that can compete at say D.II level. Will superstar be enough if starting skills are good enough?

NEVER 3 position train. As for what would be sufficient at the D2 level, it depends on if you want to sell for profit or play and train. A last resort should be PA potential, but superstar would probably be my cutoff if I were in D2. You are only in D4, and I don't think you should worry about it until the time comes.

I meant 1. Meaning train 3 people. (I am not that much of a noob lol) Why not worry about it I won the first finals game in D.IV. That is why people struggle to keep competing because they don't prepare. Its good to have a D2 ready guard, why? Because if he can compete at D2, he can win at D3. (wow amazing concept)

If you're talking about a finished product, the starting skills don't really matter much (though obviously, really poor starting skills will make for a really poor season or two while you're training them (and more if you give them secondary skills early). I'd just say try to find a team who's been relatively successful in II and plays whatever style you're looking to play and glance at the potential and salary of their guards and then you've got a rough idea.

Why didn't I think of that? Good idea. Thanks.
