So I have won my first championship game and am almost 100% sure that i will promote. My plan is right after the last game, I am going to sell the majority of my team and rebuild my team around ONLY american players. My question is: Since I will have between 2 million and 3.5 million dollars in the bank, I want to buy an amazing USA rookie (MVP+ potential to be the base of my team), but should I look at trying to get a PG trainee or a SF trainee?
I do not want a big man trainee, because in order to even partially compete in III. league I need better skilled big men and don't really want to train a SG, so I am left with a PG or SF... Which one do you think would be a better/more important piece to my rebuilding team? Keep in mind:

I want to stick with Look Inside offense
I like have a pure solid lock down defensive team
I would like a play maker type player that influence my games a lot

I'm leaning toward a SF, but am open to all opinions.

Mr. Ah Shucks,

I would train the SF if you want him to eventually be the heart of your team. It will be easier to find and buy a PG that will be able to do the job. SF will often be the weak link on the team you are playing against, so have a guy that can dominate there. Will take a lot of time tho!

If you remember me, then I don't care if everyone else forgets.

Thanks for the reply Mr. South Carolina

You have officially convinced me to go with a SF. Very true that the SF spot is the weakest on 75% of teams. I am prepared to take a long time on forming my team, so training the SF won't be a problem. Now i just have to hope to grab a player who i can train along with him in the draft, otherwise i should probably buy another trainee to go along with him. +1

Agree with training SF, because if you have to buy one they're either super expensive or have bigger holes than you like. If you train one yourself, you can make him very salary efficient and entirely suited for your team. That last part is hard to achieve with a SF from the transfer list as SF's are very diverse. PG's are easier to find.

The thing to keep in mind is if you're training SFs, the problem with training bigs still applies, just not every week - because they'll still need some inside training or they'd just be guards. ;) But 2 game weeks can be used for rebounding, or you can target specific weeks to train inside when you're sure you'll lose or sure you'll win in the league, or if you just have the 1 SF trainee and the others were guards, you can just train inside in the scrimmage and maybe your starters might end up squeezing out a bonus pop.

It would be even better if you nabbed such a player in the upcoming draft Would be cool watching him grow week to week.

You hit the nail on the head sir...I play this game for those beautiful green arrows that you see on Friday afternoon. They are like a new toy...after a pop, you can see it in action the same day(my Private league games are 4 hours after the training update). Good luck in your draft!!!! And +1 ball for ya...great post
