Since I started to play this game I've always believed that any player could not drop in FREE THROWS, whatever his age.
In the past 14 seasons it went that way, but today... this guy (6252920) dropped. And I trained free throws!!
The strange thing is that the same guy last week dropped in stamina... training stamina.

Do you need a screenshot or you can check anyway?

Maybe he is yust too old , so even training cant help him maintaining his current skills.

When the X player is like 30-35 and trainiing Y skill can leed to maintaining that skills to the current value , but your example is actualy too old , soo skill drop logic in this case is ok

I know this has been reported before by a US manager, just cant remember who it was. I guess he has a lot of skills at atrocious if not all? I suppose that when reaching a certain age training will actually lead to you suffering more then what you gain from it.

If it works that way, the system is really stupid then. How can training be worse than doing nothing, lol?
If you don't train, you keep shooting well, if you train you become a bad shooter. It can't work that way.

Unfortunately, you're confusing things that make sense in the real world with things that happen in the BB world. I'm fairly certain it was shikago who had noticed this effect, and it makes sense in a non-real-world manner. Let's say that an 18 year old trains at 100% of training speed, and then that drops by some percentage each year. If the manner in which the drop is coded is linear (i.e., -x% each year), at some point the amount of the drop becomes more than 100% and training would start having a negative effect if this eventuality is not prevented by the training code.

I agree with hrudey, and I wouldn't say that makes this game stupid or unrealistic, if a very old player with almost no skills at all drops a couple of free throw levels when you train him, cause that doesn't make any difference anyway. At least this must be one of the least important things, a BB-staff member should worry about.

I do understand that, but don't you think it's a bit awkward not to have a "bottom cap"? I mean, the speed of training should go from 100% (for 18yo) to 0%
It shouldn't go below 0% because it makes no sense. Training, something you invest on (it's somehow the key of the game), becomes harmful. It's a nonsense.
I'm not looking for realism in a browser game, of course, but honestly that's just a hole of logic.
If the system is designed that way (I mean: going below 0% training speed) I'd like to know why it was thought exactly in that manner.

I want to specify that the whole story is not a big deal... my 48yo is clearly a mascotte, I don't really care, just... I didn't expect the system to work that way.

Yeah, it was me.
(it's a safe bet that any theories, research, or observations regarding 40 year olds in BB were posted by me, lol.)

FT drops are still a very rare thing however. Unlike stamina... where almost every time I train it I have multiple players drop!

In case you're interested... older players can still improve by cross-training.
In fact, my first ever cross-training pop was a 46 year old in jump shot!
