There should be a D-League, with one game a week, where you can give younger guys playing time who aren't good enough to crack the regular rotation, but have enough potential that they get a chance to run.

The best way to do this would be to keep track of scrimmage wins, and have scrimmage standings which I, personally, think would be cool, but it sort of destroys the meaning of 'scrimmage'.

Next thing you know, we'll be talking about practice.

For me the scrimmage is a win if the trainee played full 48 minutes. I have a regular scrimmage partner and most of the time we both play Princeton/2-3 to insure as little interaction between players of both teams as possible.

However, it would be cool if you could get, say, one 16y old per month and play them in weekly practice game. Then when they turn 18, you either sign them with your team or not. I don't know how would that interact with the draft though...

it would be cool if for example only d.1 and d.2 would have a chance to have a training spot on d-league team...with this option, they would of course forfeit one training slot in regular league in order to avoid having four training slots per week

If this were ever an option (which I hope it never will be) I would prefer it to cost a team money to utilize and be open to anyone with the money to waste per week to upkeep it. Because D1s and D2s are not all the same.
