Do players change their preferred positions? And if so, why does this happen. The reason I ask is because two point guards changed to shooting guards and although their stats did not change, their expected price was altered because of this change.

Preferred positions are based off the skills of the player. E.g. someone starts off as PG because they have PA and OD at 6 to start with but everything else at 4. Then you spend a season training their IS and ID and they are considered a PF now, etc. So it is all based off the weighted values BB gives for each skill and the amount it matters to each position

The only guys that will change position are players that you're training or guys that are aged 33 or older who's skills start declining. Change the skills of a player and you could change their position.
My guess is that you trained either jumpshot or jump range recently based on the information you supplied.
