This is my trainee, my training has been all him this season. I'm wondering if he looks good so far.
I'm using an exceptional trainer. I'm currently training one on one forwards and inside defense.
Any tips? I'm ok with waiting a few seasons for him to turn into a key player for me.

Yeah by few seasons I meant ATLEAST 6.
I'm not worried about the cash as I'm expecting to get promoted this season
even if I was to lose in the semis or finals. I'm aiming for a SF, just because he can be all round, but I'm ok with a pf.
This trainer will most likely be replaced next season with promotion arena bonuses. I'm still making a profit with a
$45000 trainer so I'm not worried about cash.

The rough way to evaluate SFs is by total skill points. (Some include STA/FTW, but I don't. Although those skills help a lot) Yours is at 53 TSP. That means he's on track to be a good club player. To give you a sense of where you're at, some players are drafted with as few as 30 TSP, and some players who are being trained will already have TSP's in the mid-60's.

I have a few recommendations:
First, join the USA-Offsite for access to helpful tools in regard to training/team building. (136866.1)
Then, download the Training Simulator (229484.1) to get a handle on what training regimen you need to give your player to help them develop the way you want.

As far as a training plan... Since your player's on the taller side for a SF, I would focus on outside skills first. Specifically, you want to train pressure (OD) while your player's still young. Then training ID will keep your player from being a defensive liability while you train offensive skills. Once you've got defense in place, train JR if you're running an outside offense and IS if you're running an inside offense. Training PA at this point will also make playing him at PG less painful, since his salary will still be low. Once you've got a good base of outside skills, switch to inside skills. And then just keep rounding our your player.

There are two schools of thought about 1v1:
1) Since you can train JS and 1v1 with him at his natural position (SF), hold off on those until you've got other skills in place.
2) Since high HA and IS allows other skills to train somewhat faster, get a lot of 1v1 Forwards (which trains JS/HA/DR/IS) in at the beginning.

About the build: As a SF with MVP potential, you (effectively) won't have to worry about him capping. So I'd try to end up with 12-15 in OD, ID and JS, and at least 8 RB. Beyond that it depends on what kind of offense you run.

If you go the PF route, I'd say you want to shoot for 9+ in OD/HA/DR/PA and 12+ in JS (and 8+ JR if you're running an outside offense). And then build IS/ID/RB/BK as necessary for your offense until you either run out of cap or won't be able to afford the resulting player.

I'm in D1. I made $845 000 in income last week and my staff salaries were only $29 700.

I'm sure you catch what I'm saying here.

I'm not sure about your advices. Since he's in the lower league, I don't think he should be bothering about convenience of his playing positions. If he's willing to pay a level 6 trainer, he obviously cares about the trainee more than the club results.



My guess is that he has a level 6 trainer because like many newbies, he figures incorrectly that's twice as good as a level 3 trainer. My advice to him would be that you can still put a premium on training with a cost-effective level 4 trainer and that way he won't be murdering his economy in the process.

There's no sense in training a player to a high level if he can't get out of DV because as we both know, eventually he won't be able to afford that players high salary along with a L6 trainer and all his other expenses. That's just reality.

Like I said earlier, this trainer was only for this season. He will be fired in the offseason and be replaced with a level 3 or 4 trainer.
I appreciate all of your advice, so thank you. The only reason I felt I could use this trainer is because
I thought I could easily get promoted. Thanks again.
