Have a bit too much time on my hands i think.

Thought id do a bit of a catelogue of all the POISON!!!!!!!!!!!! we have heard from Mr Sid this season.

No harm intended at all, in fact, this is a tribute to one of the greatest dribblers of bollox these forums have seen, im sure everyone knows his elloquence when it comes to the forums, Its actually a really funny read IMO.

So here goes. Ive edited stuff where appropriate to give context, or provided info for context.

03/09/2012
I was close a couple of times to buying in the swingman I wanted, but given my primary focus (this season) will be on training I might wait a week or two first

03/17/2013
Team Akuma draws another Bot team in the cup.
Would really like to see this team tested over 3 games in a week and have to fight for the 50K from cup games rather than just being given it."
- In the meantime, Sid is the only team to not draw an ABBL opponent in Rnd 7 of the cup.

3/17/2013
"Team Akuma barring injuries or sales caused by finanical pressures will be extremely hard to beat because of the stength of their starting 5"
- Apparently not that hard with rent a beasts.

3/18/2013
- Directed at TAK - You will have your work cutout should one of the balanced teams with depth, buy in a couple of beasts to supplement their rosters at the end of the season
- Weeks later, Sid buys two bigs before TAK's game. Perhaps a small hint at his future plans aye!!!

3/19/2013
Bit dissapointed with this and it will impact my ability to buy in the "anti Duffill Beasts" at the end of the season
- End of season Sid?!?!?! POISON!!!!!!!

3/23/2013
@ TAK - I intend to be the first to congradulate you if you do promote and given my focus is primarily on training I doubt if I will be the team to challenge you

3/26/2013
Do have a tough week this week and am at real risk of getting knocked out of the cup.

- -Beats cup opponent team by 60 points whilst training his SG at C position.

4/1/2013
Ive spent a bit of time studying your team and I reckon there is only 3 ways that I can win against it.
First way is that you run into financial difficulties and have to sell off.
Second way is that I have a bit of a restructure at some stage and bring in 2 very very good players whilst maintaining an edge in depth.
Third way is that one or more of your players sustain an injury when it matters

... and we all know how this ended - mind you, is he giving info away here?!?!?

4/2/2013
4 more wins and in theory I could tank the rest of the season
Not suggesting that I cant beat Akuma

- pffft, who would suggest such a thing! oh wait....

4/3/2013
Akuma is trying to play down the inevibility of his promotion

4/3/2013
Maybe if I was sure Akuma was going to sell off, I might be best to try and win the away games and sacrifice the game against Akuma (not that I could beat him anyway)

nah no way you could beat him. :)

and finally

4/4/2013
That said if I sold off 2 or 3 of my older players this season I could certainly buy some very capable younger ABBL standard players, when ever they hit the market and who would at the end of next season compliment my 3 developing SFs to allow my team to be quite competitive in the ABBL in season 25.

and
Just had a quick calculation, without touching the younger Aussie 6 or 7 core players in my team I still have between 2 and 2.5 mill worth of sales to make at some stage before the end of next season, even in a depressed market"

- buys two big men days later.
but then
And even without making any sales I already have enough money for a key long term ABBL standad acquisition should one i really like turn up on the market tomorrow"

OMG - Is it Paul Pierce or did I just hear.... The Truth?!?!?!
ahhhhhhhhh wouldnt the forums be so borin

Nothing wrong with a bit of gamesmanship.

Nice post

With regards to training, I reckon the 17 pops that Ive got Will Williams to have, through mostly single position training in a season and a half, might suggest that I have been doing some training.

I might also add that there is a team in our league whose starting 5 collectively have combined salaries of $606,630.

Given that I train skills to young trainees and not gameshape to mature aging players and that my entire teams salaries total less than Team Akumas starting 5, surely this makes me the good guy.

Ive tried strategies to affect ways one and two (me buying in players to beat Team Akumas so that his home crowd would go down and that his roster would be stretched so he couldnt keep on winning in the cup).

Even with his massive salaries Team Akuma has he is probably only losing around 113K a week and he has one more home game than I in the run into finals.

Looks like the only way the Fab 5 can miss out on a promotion is if Duffill gets his annual injury at the wrong time

Whilst Team Akumas promotion may appear unstoppable, he cant really be upset with me trying what ever I can within the laws of the game, to beat him

We all know after all these seasons that Sid is a bit of a larakin and to take everything he says with a grain of salt.

Kind of ironic because I can remember thinking of you as the new comer to the ABBL

Totally agree he is just a smelly noob, but that number two in Australia ranking and third best record in the ABBL is a bit of a problem.

Haha, nice to see the legend continues to grow. I believe it used to be MY job making sure everyone knew what Sid was capable of. Seems he very much still up to his old tricks and glad to see it!
