If you look at the detailed page of one of your players it has the deadline (this gets added at the end of each season, it hasn't been there until recently).
Note that the deadline is based on when the player is placed on the transfer market, and not when the sale is completed. Once that deadline has passed, I think that it will actually say that a player can't be used in the playoffs.
