How often does a player do this? Go from a 16 in OD to 14 ... in one week.

I've read that players cannot gain 2 skill points in a week, but they can clearly lose skill points that rapidly. My 33 yr old PG just dropped 2 points: from prodigious to wondrous. If it happened again, I'd be only sensational ... but hopefully that won't be the case for years ...

Is this the kind of thing other people are seeing as players age?

Hello. Players older than 33 years old is not a new thing, and them dropping 2 skills in 1 week isn't new either. Just like how players have levels of skills, they also have sublevels that go from .00 to .99 of each individual level. What might have happened is that he could have been at 16.00, then dropped to 14.99, or something close to 15.

If this is the case, then he is technically at 15, but the few remaining sublevels put him at 14. Hope this answers your question.

I've had double drops several times on my older players. It's a bummer, for sure, but it's a risk you have to accept when carrying older dudes on the team.

I had a player a few years back, Rastko Bratosa, who was a crazy outside gunner, reduce from being quite dominant behind the arc to being nearly irrelevant within the span of one season. It was most disheartening.

Yes. This season I had two 33 year olds, one hasn't had any drop so far, but the other dropped 6 times in 5 weeks (always 2 at once), which is why I sold him. Even my coach's specialty didn't help him.
I don't really understand the point behind this, it shouldn't be so extreme for one player and non-existent for the other.

I've had 33+ players on my roster for years and I've seen the double drop in one week twice over that time. In both instances, it was the players best/highest skill that did the double drop. Seems like a reverse elastic effect of sorts.

I had a double drop twice this season on my two 33 years old.
Strange thing was, that the double drop was on the skill I trained that week for my trainees. And with both it was not they're highest skill.
They didn't receive that training btw.

Only in the dark, we succeed!

It's definitely random. I had one player that only had one total skill drop through his age 33 and 34 seasons. And looking at his salary now at age 37 it looks virtually the same as when I owned him.

On the flip side, I had another player who had 4 skill drops the first 4 weeks after turning 33. I couldn't sell him fast enough.
