Right now I am in third place in my conference, and more than likely gunna be in the third seed for the playoffs. My question is

Dow likely would It be for me to get promoted?
Do I have to win the chip to get promoted?

Also how is my team shaped right now. I use the Princeton and too my eyes it seems to go well for my team,we seem to win cause of Defense.

Who should I keep?
Who should I sell?

Right now my starting PG is out so my back up PG has been playing, but the other players on my team pick up the slack, I accidentally sold two crappy rotation players so now I have a 10 man team and I'm 10K in debt but the next economic update I should be good and be able to buy 2 third string players for insurance.

So opinions would be nice and any advice would be helpful since this is my first season.

Before anything else I would say that your chances of promoting are slim to none. The first place team in your conference is far and away the best team from your side so just making the championship game is next to impossible this year.

On the bright side of things, you look like you're handling GS fairly well, but you can still improve on it(we all can). That, coupled with enthusiasm and figuring out tactics to use on different teams, should be all you really need for promotion from D.V. next year. Use the rest of the season to continue getting a feel for the game. Maybe you will even get a decent draftee to start training. I would say for right now though you should at least be doing 2 position training for your PF and C since they have good potentials and aren't anywhere near being capped, and this would make them better players for you next year when you have a full season to make a run at promotion.

One more thing, build your arena! This will help you get more money once you do promote. More money leads to better players and better staff, which *should* leads to more wins, which leads to more money, etc.

Good luck!

I have 1757 players for sale and I'm $25,835,360 in debt. Buy them at outrageous prices, or be selfish and make me go bankrupt. You decide, BB.

agree with henry, build that arena, get a better feel for the game and manage GS/enth

imo next season TIE all the games that you know you'll win or lose and then normal the tough ones. Since you are in D5 I suggest you TIE a lot of games because it leads to better enthusiasm, and also once enth hits a certain numbers (like 8 or so) that TIE would feel much like a normal.

IF i were to sell anyone on the roster, I'd sell Jordi Marco bc first he's 32, and affter 32 his value goes way down because skills start dropping at the age of 33. Maybe even Mintautas Zaržeckis too if you can take the hit and then use the selling of those 2 to get two decent 6k players who are younger then 30 imo. This may not be the best of ideas but with GS+enth+tactics management those 6k players could play like 10k players if they got the skills

btw Sigborsson and Tesauro is a pretty good combo and maybe if you add a SF with good JS/JR/OD (JS and JR bc you ay your a Princeton team) then you could be a lock for promotion

oh yea you may wanna buy a draftee or two if you wanna train some players next season (and if you have a pretty weak draft) my opinion though: I'd get 1 Perrenial Allstar and a Allstar and buy em for cheap to start off. Oh and have em have great secondaries so all you have to do is IS/ID/RB/SB for their training

Appreciate the quick responses, yeah Marco and my PF seem like two guys I would sell,so I can get younger better players to improve, and work on the draft and expand the arena seems to be my next step then. :]

Yea my SG and C our keepers. </3

As other have said, build your arena + learn how game shape and enthusiasm work. Also learn how to make money for yourself, don't start going out and spending money on random players without knowing if a) you actually need them and b) if they're being sold for a good price.

If you can master that short list, you'll move up the ranks very quickly.

your chances of getting promoted is impossible. You can't beat my team or Catching Fire's so I would be looking forward to go D. 4 in 2 more seasons.Bye

Well that's just rude. First of all, if he really wanted to promote he could buy higher salary players off the TL to make a playoff run; since we're talking D.V here such players wouldn't have to be super-expensive in terms of transfer price or salary. Second, you have a skeleton roster and quite obviously have issues managing game shape, so he could definitely beat you even with his current roster. I agree Appalachian Mountaineers are unlikely to beat Catching Fire this season, since CF has stronger players and manages GS well, but since he appears to normal every game I think a smart manager could definitely take him down. So your statement is as inaccurate as it is ill-mannered.

You're cocky, yet you're in D5.

See the problem here?

the problem here is that the team at the top of his conference has about 4-5 significantly salaried players. He's probably in the red, the best chance here is that he goes too far, goes bankrupt, and a mass selling spree gets triggered on him. a 5003 seat arena with something like 134k player salaries.... i think i carry 140k salary pre-playoff push in D.IV with a 9k arena and am only 10-15k profitable.

the other conference poses no threat (the guy trashing your chances in here has no gameshape, nobody else is able to beat him regularly over there), so you can linger around and hope the mass exodus happens to the guy at the top of your conference, but it's really just a question of when that guys team goes under, and it's not worth banking on really, i certainly wouldn't build my team up to try and beat him regardless.

Here are some simple to follow guidelines to getting yourself prepared for this game:

1) Gameshape - Players with higher gameshape (strong/proficient) can play significantly better than guys with betters skills and less game shape (average/mediocre). My rough minutes guideline is 48-70, the more consistant and the more your narrow in to that range, the more likely you are to hold gameshape together.

2) Potential - Potential of a player merely means his ceiling or how great he can be before his skills no longer go up. a 26 year old MVP with a 4k salary and a 6th man 26 year old with a 4k salary and similar skills on similar teams in similar divisions will tend not to play all that differently from one another. If you train an MVP right, he can go well over 100,000 in salary costs (reading the guide gives you the exact estimate, i am lazy), whereas a 6th man wont train that far.

3) Ages - Development Ages are 18-26, with 18-20 being the most crucial stages of development. 33+ year olds begin losing skills, gradually getting steeper. This should weight in heavily on your transfer values on players.

4) Arena = Revenue = More Money = Better players. Being good fills an arena, you cant add standing room only crowds though. Gotta build that arena out to make the bigger revenues.

1 and 4 are probably priority, but you'll need 2 and 3 to avoid market traps. I dont proclaim to be 100% accurate here, but it'll get you going in the right direction i think. Good Luck.
