There has been debate in the U21 team thread, that a more single point of contact be agreed upon for all matters involving the U21 and national teams and for generally building the Australian community, with focus from the U21 and National team coaches and assistants/mentors etc.

Currently the existing mechanisms are:
- Offsite forums
- Public threads and forums
- Private Federation threads

It has been suggested that as a community for Australian National team discussion, all discussion should be happening in a more centralised location. This will save duplication and hopefully build a better Australian community.

The poll will have the following choices

Public Forum Threads
- Continuation of the existin public forum threads. Moderated by normal GM's. Pro - Already exist and everyone can easily access them. Con - No private information can be discussed. (Personally, i dont actually see this as an option - there has to be privacy of some sort).

Off-site Forum
- All National and U21 team discussion, as well as player mentoring etc will need to occur on the offiste forum already in place. Improvements would need to be made to make it a slightly more easier place to be, but its certainly do-able. Pro's - Already exists, its private, can be managed by multiple people, anyone (non-supporter) can access it when approved..... Con's - Its offiste, meaning - another login, another website, no integration with BB, users have to ask for permission to join, can turn off some users.

Existing Wombat Federation
- Discsusison will be directed to threads inside of the existing Wombat Federation. Pros - Already exists, mods in place, its private, its within the BB-site, currently has 80+plus members already who have accesss.... Con - Only supporters can access it. Isolation of non-supporter users. Potential for duplication of information for non-supporters.

New Federation
- A new Federation has been created (thanks Kiltorm) which will be solely for the discussion of national team and U21 team and team mentoring for the benefit of users. Pro - Clean start, and as above with the Wombat Federation - except Con - No members yet, and then as above for Wombat thread.

Something else?
- Maybe something else should be done?

Lets decide after the new U21 manager is elected.
- Self explanatory.

Vote as per below. Ive tried to keep the pro's/con's for each suggestion impartial, let me know if you want this edited to be more impartial because I actually do have a perference of one of the above suggestions, of course im not going to vote straight away so no one will know :)
also - only open for 1 week. Get the word out. Its also assumed that the new U21 coach will comply with the majority and not just do what they want, but thena gain, there is an option to wait until new coach is elected.

Poll:  Which method of Australian National and U21 team discussion would you prefer going forward?

For me the best option would be to allow each country to have a private forum that only members of the country could see. Or to have a single fed for locals only controlled by the 2 NT coaches. Surely it would be a simple thing to do with any of the forum software's I have used.

Personally, I think a Fed designated purely for the U21 NT is required. Not one that encompasses NT also but just for the U21. The U21 NT is a big enough entity to warrant its own fed.

In respect to Koops's warning regarding pre-election banter, I will refrain from explaining how this might look and feel...

...until it is time to share...

:-)

PS. I respect the recent polls and fed setups by managers but there needs to be, imo, a far more serious discussion before anything should be created...

Agree. I voted for new federation but there needs to be 2.

The offsite forum is idea, it is secure, has great formatting and a mountain of useful data:l we just need a decent core of managers posting there with regularity to get the conversations going.

Yep

When i joined no one had posted in weeks so I had a look around and made a post about the mentor program and went back to look and no one had said anything so did not go back again for a couple of seasons.
What ever we do it needs input form a bunch of coaches.

the poll is more just to give an indication of where people would like things to go - implimentation can occur in whatever manner is appropriate.

I think using the BB forums in conjunction with the off site may be the only way this will work.

Offsite for tactics/player stats.

BB forums for training advice, mentoring, recruitment.
