How big of a difference does it make? Often times, one of the biggest advantages of being the #1 seed going into the play-offs is home court advantage. In these current play-offs I entered the play-offs as the #4 seed, I know find myself in the finals. That's not to say that HCA doesn't play a role. I had a 13-9 record this season. Including National Tournament Games, I was 13-2 at home compared to 5-8 on the road. This is a simple research experiment, but I'm asking you guys to post your views on home court advantage. This includes your personal experiences, opinions, statistics, etc. With some help, we can all find out just how important HCA really is in the world of BuzzerBeater!

This Q should be moved to the help forums, but in answer to your question. HCA generally gives you a +8 head start in my books.

In my league during season 22, the average was about six points for the home team. Haven't checked this year.

Fiddling around with the matchup predictor on the USA-Offsite, HCA looks to be about 6 points, give-or-take. And that agrees with Antares23's analysis of his league. I think that makes sense.

I have the impression it is much more, at least from the observation of my last two games.

In the Finals, this weekend, we played both games with the same starting line-up, same tactic offensively and defensively, same enthusiasm (PON on saturday for both teams, POCT on sunday for boh teams).

I lost by 11 points on saturday and won by 14 on sunday (and i was leading by +26 before garbage time in the fourth quarter)

Of course, this is just one observation, but this has confirmed the impression gained in previous seasons that in the Finals, HCA is a huge advantage, a lot more than 8 or 10 points. What do you think ?

HCA is more evident during playoff games and cup/tournament, not as much as regular season games. as having a slight advantage every game is unique, to come up with a variable of a plus-minus is purely guesswork. You are assuming that players playing in that game have the same set of gameshape/tactics and give the same effort are all constant, which is never the case in BB. HCA doesn't guarantee you a win only am added advantage.
