First I would slow down a little bit there Lightningfast, there's a lot to learn first.

I would start by reading the training guide cover to cover. Twice is necessary.

(144856.1)

The first season I would concentrate on building your arena (you need to make $$$) and learning how the game engine works. Then you can start planning to conquer the world for season 2. ;)

Well I personally would have kept Ritchie Thomas because he is 18 yers old has good enough potential and could have really helped you down the road but now he is on the TL so... hopefully no one bids on him (or you could always bid on your own player and keep him), but i thought he was a ncie player and you can get a lot more out of him by training him as a beast SG rather than selling him now for cheap money.

Training an outside oriented SG is pretty simple i think. In my opinion you should train his OD up to prominent, and then switch every week between training 1v1 for guards and outside shooting(jump range) for the rest of the season and beginning of next season and after that work in some more passing (until passing is up to proficient) and some more Pressure for OD. Then you could get a guard that looks like this:

Jump shot: prominent (+3) Jump Range: Prominent (+4)
Outside Defense: Sensational (+5) Handling: Proficient (+5)
Driving: Proficient (+5) Passing: proficient (+3)
Inside shot: average

Obviously you aren't going to get 25 pops this season but this is what he could look like near the beginning of the season when he is 20 years old. He could be a very good player for your team down the line. feel free to bbmail me for any help too.

This is the first time I have suggested this to someone but...
I suggest you create a new team and get rid of this team. Once you decide to create a new team do not ever sign into your current team again. I'm not sure how else to get a new team without breaking the rules. You don't want to get banned.

Reasons why you should restart fresh:
You have only one average trainee.
You landed in an extremely tough Div 5 league.
Your pricing is screwed up on your arena.
Your arena has not been built any.

The only thing I think you did well was picking up old players to build your squad around. Other than that...

You just started playing so it won't hurt to restart. Chances are likely you will land in an easier division and you can research pricing before you make a decision (look at winners in DIV5 to see how they price without selling out). You might even get lucky and land a decent prospect on your original squad.

GL!

It's not like the guy is loaded up with high salary players he can't get rid of, majorly in debt and has no hope of avoiding bankruptcy - throwing in the towel already would be silly, especially given the waiting period before he could sign up again. What he should do instead is read the Guide to BB thread ((144856.1)), pick up a couple of cheap trainees, focus on building the arena and recognize that it's a long-term game and building foundation early is key. Looking at it instead as a short-term game where you have to re-roll if you don't get a perfect start is exactly the wrong attitude to take here.

Well I have never suggested this for a reason. But I see his team as a special case where restarting fresh would be best.

But since he doesn't want to...

He can probably just take a slow route and build up his stadium the next few seasons while investing in the draft and grabbing trainees. Maybe in a couple seasons his league will be easier after some of the top teams advance on.
