Exactly how much better is a superior trainer than an advanced trainer? Because I have an advanced trainer right now and my players have been getting pops at a decent clip, but I see all the recommendations being that someone get a superior trainer. The superior trainer's are ridiculously priced, like 300k for a guy with like a 20k salary. That would take away 5k from what I'm currently making per week.

There's been lots of discussion about this, many say it's in the single digits (percentage wise) that a superior is greater than advanced. Some people think the extra money is worth the extra couple of pops you get, others don't. It really is based off your preference. If you are trying to train someone for the national team in a competitive league (US?) you probably want at least a superior, if you just want something to train for yourself and are trying to save money, go advanced. So it really is all about what you want to do with your players. Obviously if you are in a country with 20 teams... a superior trainer probably won't be necessary to make the NT with your players.

Don't quote me on this: I think I recall reading that each level of trainer is 8% better than the previous.

Since you are still a young team, I would recommend you keep the advanced trainer. Over the course of a few seasons (I can't remember how many) an advanced trainer would only have about 4-5 less pops than a superior trainer. The amount pops gained isn't enough for the spike in salary IMO, and to be honest, I've always had an advanced trainer. Except for 1 week where I accidentally bought a superior trainer, and had to pay his salary :)

I highly value an advanced trainer with career extension over a superior trainer with no special.

If my advanced trainer stops 1 guy from losing a skill point each season, that is like 7 pops for me

Overall though when using the training simulator, you can get a superstar to cap out rather easily. The more the player leans towards SF position the longer it will take to cap.

Besides I don't really want to cap my players all that quickly. Just my opinion.
