Lets start this with Free Agency in this season. Lots of good free agents out there including D12, Al Jefferson, Josh Smith, Monta Ellis, and many more! CP3 looks booked to stay with Clippers with a 5/107M. Exciting 'start' to NBA season eh?

I'll start of with the D12 situation.

I'm not too sure if I even want him in Houston. Now he is the best center currently playing the game, and the talent level is certainly there. It's probably the fact that his previous 2 seasons have been rocky. Examples include but are not limited to, Stan Van Gundy and the Magic GM getting fired, his (at times) questionable play, doubts about his serious and commitment, and so forth. I don't know. Maybe I'm just being a bit concerned about that stuff. If the Rockets were to pick him up, I'm sure they could shoot up to the 4th or 5th seed in the playoffs.

Now I'll move onto Brooklyn. In short, I just don't like the fact that they don't have a bench to call up when needed. I can't see them getting past the Heat, Pacers, Knicks or Bulls, if Derrick Rose comes back. I say they don't get higher than 4th place.

There are so many free agents this offseason and with the new cap rules in the nba, a lot of people are going to be out of jobs I think.

It seems that the Raptors can get rid of Bargnani. That would be one of the best news I can get this off-season.

Should we just go ahead and re-name this whole forum the NBA forum?

It is still amazing to me that a 7'0" guy can only average 5 rebounds per game for his career.

To be fair the Nets couldn't beat the Bulls even without D-Rose.

I know, and that's why I included the Bulls in there. Even if they had lost to the Nets, I probably would have the Bulls ahead of the Nets.

Because he only has a 7'0" body while he is 6'0" minded. He doesn't have any kind of an inside presence.

You say there are lots of GOOD free agents and then follow up with D12, Al Jefferson, Josh Smith, and Monta Ellis. Why didn't you say some of the good players? Just pulling your leg, but seriously that was not a list of productive players outside of Howard when he is healthy. The rest are poor shooting volume scorers with little to no D...just about the bane of existence according to the currently popular analytics (which I fully endorse, btw).

This new CBA is going to crush some teams. You can't afford to be wasting premium dollars on bench players anymore. I think the Wizards will come to regret the backup SF Martell Webster (5.5 per year for 3 years) signing and Spurs will regret giving Tiago Splitter 9 a year for the next 4 years especially after he was exposed in the Finals.

I'm a big Cavs fan and I'm excited to see if they can take the plunge and sneak in as the 8 seed this year. Won't be as big of an accomplishment as so many teams are all in for Wiggins this year. Kyrie should be an All-Star and will see some solid improvement from Waiters and Tristan after Mike Brown gets some defensive coaching into them. I think they will be close with a line-up of:

Irving/Free Agent PG
Waiters/Miles
Gee/Earl Clark (rumored to sign)
Thompson/Bennett
Varejao/Zeller

If they can add a veteran SF like a Danny Granger or flip Varejao/Thompson for a true Center like Asik or Pekovic they will be shoe-ins for the 8 seed.
