Hi all,

I am playing a team that is equally good as mine.
However:
I am playing at home.
I expect him to come in with no more than 8 enthusiasm vs my 10.
So I expect him to CT.

If I play normal, who should win? What would the chances be?

How many points is CT vs Normal worth on equal enthusiasm?

I've been told that playing on your home floor always gives you a 5-10 point advantage. In theory, if you have a better team, higher enthusiasm and home court advantage, you should win most, if not all the time. But in BB, crazier things have happened.

I don't want to guarantee who would win if you Normal, and I don't want to give chances either, as they may be dicey. This depends on the players you and your opponent play. Concerning GS, it is pretty close. Good luck.

Something I've never understood but I figure this is a good place to ask:

In OP's example he has 10 enthusiasm and his opponent has 8. So here's my question: If they both play at Normal, is OP's Normal going to be more effective because of his higher enthusiasm rating? I guess what I'm asking is whether the rating itself (focused, determined, etc.) effects performance or whether effort (TIE, CT, Normal) is the only determinant.

I would think they both contribute.

If you were higher in one than the other, and it was the opposite to your opponent, you would hope it might even out...

No doubt some of the more experienced guys can add if there has ever been some findings on this or a past discussion.

I decided to CT since I have two easy games coming up. Good thing too because my best player got injured 1 minute into the game. I figured why take the risk when I have a sure thing.

Looks like most of his team will be fouled out by half time, leaving you to play his reserves the rest of the way home!

Good luck.

Wow I ended up being the only one who CT'ed. Well good thing I did as I was shorthanded after the first minute. My stamina is not great on the guards I had playing and my emergency backup was a power forward lol. Overall it was less risky than playing normal, and by the time I get to my next cup game I will only have 2.7 less enthusiasm. Hopefully I will get another home game with a decent chance to win to make up for it.

Yeah I watched your match, your guys had a good rhythm going and his G's just couldn't contain yours. SF was a bit of a worry for you though, your starter isn't much of an inside defender is he?

Over all good game, some great player ratings for you in the end as well. Try and get your game shapes up and get control of the Enth for next weeks match up, could be a good chance.

Lucky for you Brown was only injured during the match and is ready to go again next game.

I knew he was going to tear me up at the SF/PF position. Not many teams are specialists there, but he was. I had considered a 2-3 zone, but I wanted my PG to play his PG and my SG to guard his SG. Also it feels like the zones cause players to foul out more often and I didn't want to risk it.

My starting SF is 9/7 OD/ID. So I thought he would match up well. He had 9 GS so I put him as my starter. But his player just kept going inside on Álvarez nearly fouling him out while Álvarez had a terrible shooting night going 0-10. Still had a game rating of 8.5, I am guessing he did a decent job of stopping him from scoring more lol.

Hopefully a season of training will shore up my PF/SF position. Come playoff time I'll be playing those guys at their best positions which probably means those two SF's won't be playing much

Yes, the team with 10 enthusiasm at normal will be more effective than the team at 8. If the level of enthusiasm had no effect, you could in theory play CT every game with no consequences.

On top of that, there's some line (I don't know where), where a team with high enough enthusiasm playing TIE will be more effective than a team with lesser enthusiasm playing CT.

Pretty much that's what I'm looking for.
I know TIE is equally effective at 8 to a Normal at 5.
I just wonder how effective a CT is? Would a normal at 8 = a CT at 5 for instance?
