I played my player at pg. starter backup and reserve. Strictly follows depth chart and yet he only plays for 34 mins. He was not injured nor was he fouled out wtf is happening?

It was a blow out and you dressed more than 9 players. In a blow out, all of the starters will be replaced if there are enough guys sitting on the bench regardless of the "Strictly follow ..." orders to the coach.

If you want to try to force a player to get 48 minutes, you need to not dress any extra players for the game:

PG: Player A / Player A / Player A
SG: Player B / Player F / Player F
SF: Player C / Player G / Player G
PF: Player D / Player H / Player H
C: Player E / Player I / Player I

no other players active for the game.

PG: Player A / Player A / Player A
SG: Player B / Player F / Player B
SF: Player C / Player G / Player G
PF: Player D / Player H / Player I
C: Player E / Player H / Player I What if I do this? Does it guarantee 48 mins?

There is no way to guarantee 48 minutes (thankfully) but as long as you only dress 9 players, assign the player you want to play all three roles for the position and assign the other 8 players to roles that's the best you can do.
Your proposal should work. Player I will likely only play in a blowout or if one of D, E & H is not able to play due to injury or foul out.

Really no way to guarantee 48 mins even if there is a blowout? The way u arrange it ? Is it foolproof then?

If we ignore injuries and foulouts, the only way to absolutely guarantee 48 minutes for a trainee is to dress 5 or fewer players. You can have reasonable chances of 48 with up to 9 players if you use one of the lineup schemes above but it's no guarantee - if the coach decides it's garbge time and one of your other starters is shooting free throws, his backup will still come in and will replace your trainee in that scenario. Sometimes a player gets subbed out late even with the best-case setup because of stamina or the coach deciding it's just time to do it.

Nothing is foolproof. My trainee decided to pick up 5 fouls in the first half and lasted surprisingly long to get 34 minutes this week before he picked up No. 6. You can't coach stupid, apparently.

Kind of a follow-up question here. Let's say I'm training rebounding for both PF and C. If I have a player get 24 minute of PF and 24 minutes of C does that still count as having 48 minutes for the purposes of training?

As Perpete has already said, it does. As I am training skills at the C position, when I am trying to get one trainee 48 minutes at C in a game I'll often have one of my other trainees backing up at PF, so that if and when my training minutes get fouled up, I'm already in good position for RB training.
