Thread title kind of asks the question- why are ASG offenses so effective?
Is the game programmed to be like in real life, where it's basically an exhibition and none of the defenses care? Normally I've chalked it up to the fact that the voting is mainly done based on offensive statistics, but the ASG this year seemed to change that thinking at least a bit. I had 5 all-stars this year, and all of them played well above their offensive ceilings this year. I can buy it a little bit that the offensive flow increased- but I had 3 out of the 4 guards on the roster, so I can't imagine it creates a monumentally better offensive atmosphere.

Any thoughts?

I would say it's probably because the game most likely is played as "Let Coach Decide" So no matter what the best players are playing on the court the whole time. They don't care about training or gameshape or any of that so only the best players are playing. Or they might just turn defense off, IDK.

Old game engine. OD less effective, so bombs away for everyone with JS/JR
If you remember me, then I don't care if everyone else forgets.

You're saying that the old game engine is still used to process all star games? Fun to know :)
Anyway, have people ever asked to decrease the OD power a bit? Regarding the infamous LI dominance

I don't think that's the problem. When the BBs finally lower the JR salary formula, I'm 100% sure we'll see a decrease in the amount of teams playing LI. As far as I know, that's the main thing keeping them from going with outside offenses.
People have asked for OD to be decreased, but I like it the way it is. It keeps people from just jacking up JS/JR to astronomical levels and shooting 50% from three.
