Best time to buy players is right when they become "ineligible for playoffs"

best time to buy trainers and staff is all-starish break point of season.

If you have 700k, please check my roster and buy my players :) (Just kidding, haha ... )

If I were you, I would buy the player after the playoff started. At that moment, people would concentrate on draft, so transfer market would be less crowded.

Good luck !

After the trade deadline for sure. That said, I'm not certain that buying during the playoffs is better than buying after the draft. The market gets flooded with 18 year olds after the draft (which creates a buyers market) plus that's also the time when teams that loaded up for the playoffs start unloading salary for the following season.

It depends on if you think you are going to be contending. If you want to add some pieces for a playoff push then buy ASAP because prices for players will go higher. If you know you won't be getting past the first round then waiting until the deadline has passed would be smart as players would be cheaper.

Edit: Since you said you're tanking, wait untill the transfer deadline has passed so players prices are cheaper.

There is no transfer deadline. You can sell and buy whoever you want regardless of what time of season it is. The only catch is that they won't be able to play in your playoffs if you buy them when they are inelgiable. However this is also generally when players are chaper. I believe the cut off date is like 2 weeks before but someone could give you a more accurate dat, I am just too lazy to find it.

Just realise that All-star week could be good time to buy as well.

Edit: I notice that the number of online users are less than normal. Also, Transfer estimate seems lower than normal.

Offseason is by far the best time to buy.

From my research, the best time to buy a player that you want to be a starter on your team is the first 6 days of the season (the market is flooded- good time to buy any player), right around all-star break (less money/less buyers), after the season is over (less buyers and more sellers selling starters).

Worst time to buy a starter is right before the playoffs.

As for high potential new rookies I found the best time to buy is on the second or third day of trading after the rookies started trading. This is because most of the buyers have grabbed the guys they wanted and there is still a lot of supply.

It really was surprising to me to notice I could buy good players cheaper during the all-star break than offseason but it makes sense as even during the offseason there are buyers seeking to add pieces to their team. However during the allstar break money is tighter as the cup games are generally over, there is one less divisional game, and some teams are starting to pack it in for the following season.
