I was wondering if someone can tell me the right wy of posting a new banner and logo for my team? I did it the normal way (which is the way you do it for any other website) and it doesn't seam to work.

Any ideas on steps?

You need to save the image to an image repository such as Imageshack or Photobucket, and then use the provided URL.

This method, BTW, is used on many other websites.
