"Thrilling Finish and a New Season"

A thrilling one-point margin victory in the Finals tiebreaker put the Miu & Co. over the Springfield Storm in what was one of the more memorable matchups in League IV.28 history. Another heartbreaking loss in the finals spurred the Storm's management to set in motion a huge roster overhaul, even placing star players like Demis Passas on the trading block. Other teams like the Charlotte Hornetss and Big Dawgs are pursuing similar rebuilding initiatives as another championship-less season came to a close. The new season tips off on Saturday the 21st with many team rosters still yet finalized.

"Fuller's Second Consecutive MVP Award Tainted by Playoff Failure"

Timothy Fuller (Guard) of Delpra added a second consecutive MVP award to his resume garnering an impressive unanimous MVP voting ballot for Season 24. Despite his incredible 30.3 points, 5.1 assists, 4.6 rebounds, 49% FG pct season averages, Fuller's demeanor during the award ceremony was subdued and somber. After thanking his fans and teammates, Fuller expressed his guilt for failing to lift Delpra out of the second round of the playoffs citing his dismal shooting performance that particular game against Miu & Co. who eventually went on to claim the title.

Midway through his speech, he admitted, "It was a painful loss and I know I could have done more to help us win, especially in the fourth quarter when it slipped away from us. But when the next season tips off, I will hopefully have put it behind me. I am still young, and I think I still have a lot of great basketball left in me. I believe in our management, coaching staff, and my teammates."

Since their playoff exit, Delpra's management has traded away several key players in an effort to free up salary space to allow more flexibility for future roster moves. Despite their two-time MVP, the roster still seems to lack the personnel to become a true championship contender. Fuller is still young, but the clock is ticking on Delpra's opportunity to surround him with a good supporting cast and capitalize on his talent.

When you write something like that I dont even have to try. Keep it up. :-)

I completely agree that this Finals was the most exciting in a very long time, at least during the long tenure I had in IV.28.

I also like the mention of Fuller's second MVP. My guy Terrell Looby won two in IV.28 (and finished second to Fuller in S23) but not back to back. Get him the right support and he's fuly capable of leading a charge to promotion.

Storm sells Demis Passas, Begins Rebuilding Project

After a heartbreaking season in which the Springfield Storm suffered their 4th straight Finals loss. After that game 3 loss, Springfield Storm management overreacted and sold half of the players, including the team captain. "We appreciate Demis Passas' time here with the organization and thank him for the many successful seasons, we are just sensing a change in direction, but are saddened by his departure. He will always have a special place in the organization and the fan's hearts."
Demis Passas also quoted that he was sad to leave the great town of Springfield, but is looking foward to taking his talents elsewhere. Although Passas never won a ring with the Springfield Storm, he achieved a good amount of success during his tenure on the team, including 4 top-10 in MVP voting as well as a top-5 finish last season. The departure of Passas represents dark days to come for the team. Although things may not be as bad as they seem. It has been confirmed that the 21 year old, Denis Radzevich will be the starting small forward this season, forming a a great SF/PF duo with co-captain Ian Kosta. It has also been rumored that the Springfield Storm are very involved and active in the trade and free agent markets. While some believe that the dark days are ahead for Springfield, others believe that there might be a light at the end of the tunnel.

The Springfield Storm have taken a big step in their rebuilding project, winning the bid for 20 year old phenom Jordi Zurita. Zurita averaged 23 points and 14 boards a game in a weak division last season. He rose his game to another level during the relegation series, averaging 36 points and 24 rebounds. He is widely regarded as a player who has been well coached and has a very high ceiling. It has been rumored that Springfield could be shopping veteran Center Kwok Jun Dai in an effort to get Zurita significant playing time. Judging from his scouting report, he is most regarded as a Center with a good outside game. He is considered more of an offensive threat than Kwok Jun Dai, although he is still grasping the defensive aspect of the game. Jordi Zurita will join teammate, Denis Radzevich as the team's main trainees and building blocks.

"Early Injury and Stagnant Offense Earn Delpra Loss in Opener"

The excitement before tip off was abuzz in the Google Center as team Delpra opened their season at home against spenn. The new look Delpra seemed to have shed some firepower for more youth and potential, and it showed as they struggled to get their offense going. In the first minute of the game, Robert Shaw (Guard) went down with an injury and did not play for the rest of the game. The team doctor has confirmed that it was only a precaution, and Shaw is cleared for the next game. With the absence of Shaw, the offense looked quite stagnant with many possessions ending in a contested jumper by two-time MVP Timothy Fuller. He looked visibly frustrated as the only other player to achieve double digits was Herb Saavedra (Forward). Fuller poured in 43 points, but it was not enough to match Sergi Laiseca Allende of spenn who punished young forward Gus Mahan throughout the night for 54 points.

"Overtime Thriller in Battle of Storms"

The newly arrived Chicago Kings Storm opened against the reconstructing Springfield Storm in what turned out to be an overtime thriller. The Springfield Storm looked very different from their appearance in the last season's finals as many of the familiar faces were traded away. The question mark leading into the season opener was who would fill the scoring roles vacated by the players that Springfield's management traded away. Indeed, the offense looked to struggle at times, finishing on a measly 31-for-105 shooting (29.5%). The Kings Storm managed to steal the game in the overtime period despite offensive struggles of their own.
