Season 26 is about to start. Teams are shuffling players to gear up for the new season ahead.

A special mention of last seasons relegates:
Whitebeard - Australian ABBL legend with accolades and records that will stand the test of time. This will be the first time he has relegated from the ABBL and breaks a 10 season dynasty. In those 10 seasons he has won the Championship 5 times and won the Cup tournament twice.

Pancakes with Jam and Cream - One of the elite managers in Aussie BB. He has taken a back seat since rejoining the ABBL in season 21. He did challenge the great whitebeard in season 22 where HCA would be the difference between winning the title and losing it.

peaceNroll - One of long term Calamari members enjoyed his maiden season in the ABBL. It was a learning curve any new team in the ABBL had to experience and he came away with emerging NT star Scott Schneider (22589770).

hopelessly addicted - Controversial manager that brings noise wherever he goes. This was his 3rd time back in the ABBL (obviously enjoying banking that 3mil promotion money in his warchest) and it was obvious he was still following his main objective for the last several seasons... which seems like forever now. Oh the objective was something about training his 3 trainees but it could mean anything =P

The 4 new promotees are:
North Carlton Cavaliers
High School Drop-outs
That's How You Get Ants
Vios Violationers

Of those teams only HSD has experienced some ABBL time. He only enjoyed it for one season in season 17 and it took him 8 seasons to get back here (goes to show you shouldn't take the ABBL for granted cos you don't know when you might be back). North Carlton Cavaliers would be one of the newest and quickest teams to make it to the ABBL. That's How You Get Ants and Vios Violationers are veterans of the game by now and would be in poll position to stay alive in the ABBL in their first season. They both have the experience and wit to get it done.

Great post. We are losing four amazing managers but I guess the good news is we get four new amazing ones. To the ones that land in the Big 8 see you in the playoffs, to the ones that land in the Great 8, bad luck.

Just want to point out one thing I forgot to mention last season was the first time ever three teams were in the ABBL that came from the same division IV. peaceNroll and I battled it out in IV.7 back in season 10 along with the shepparton shooters and then in season 11 Possum Chasers and Persepolis Immortals joined IV.7. Quite a collection of alumni which also included Beasts Red and Viral Infections (in a way).

The XBB group has also had it's share of alumni!

4. Urmummas
5. TeamAkuma

We've come a long way since the early days of the goldfish tournament where it was IV.7 vs XBB!

JW was also one game from joining you. If had been his opponent that got the injury and not him then...

yups it had jw's name all over it until that injury in the first minute.

if he had gotten in to ABBL, that would make it so that all current XBBers have made the ABBL!

Calamari haven't had such luck. Ezyfrag (injuries), Robhoe (injuries), Possum Pete (logjam in III.6), lordy (been trying to train his perfect unique team himself), Mr Green (blew the team up to train) and Naker (team of just five monoskilled 40 year olds) have all struggled to make it. On the other hand in the last season ezlife made it, abigfishy won the cup and the season before Xerxes won the ABBL. I am the one letting the team down seem to be stuck at the semifinals forever.

I'm wrapped to have finally made it to the big show, took me 12 seasons but the wait has been worth it.
And I'm where I wanted to be, in Sid's old seat on the blue side. :)

Also a massive congratulations to Koop for his win last season, hard work pays off!
