S25 is over, with a 5th place that is the best result since the 3rd in S19. We fell short from medal zone as simply other teams were better in terms of roster. In terms of results, things went as expected with few surprises or things I would have changed (after...):

- defeat 114-100 with -17 in an horrible Q4 against Ghana - 2-3 zone gave us +13 at rb, but was killed by unexpected R&G
- incredible 101-126 against Al Maghrib at start, normal vs unexpected Mots and again not enough to explain the defeat, even less a such large one. A first signal that we suffer terribly against external shooters
- Senegal in final tournament was approached with probably the worst gameshape - no chance

At the end of the season, we dropped 9 places (64 to 73), still far ahead of initial 88 I started with in S23.

About opponents:
- Misr is far away and is likely to dominate Africa for next 3-4 mandates at least
- Senegal is growing under a good coaching, and could be the raising star in the future
- Al Jazair has solid foundation and is likely to stay ahead of us for a long while
- Tounes is more or less where we are. New coach did something better and roster is not bad
- Al Maghrib and Nigeria looks like having felt in the pit, could they step back into competitiveness?
- Ghana is aging. The great silver medal could be the last great result of that team, as their top players will start deskilling this season and backups look like poor (at least as far as I can judge), as effect of poor scouting since Mitico Cobra left

what about us, next post.

Now, what's new in S26. First, the changes to game engine with prediction system that will likely affect more us, with a short roster, than some opponents. We'll see anyway, it looks like it can give only marginal advantages (3-8 points), but it's too early to say.

About roster, generation change is in progress. Here the best prospects for the incoming season, that will start with an impossible WC qualifier (not even a minimal chance to win a match)

POINT GUARDS
Historical Schartner and Kadzamira will deal with deskilling. Here we have great news with few new entries: Gulch, Mokitimi, Sugiura are a good pack for OD and passing, with chances to even improve

SHOOTING GUARDS
Kolane and Mbangwa are 34 and declining. We have already better players, as Lekoelea and new entry Mosheua with Mamoepa unfortunately dealing with potential cap, Maselelele and Tsenoki as passable backups with limits in OD. Reerink can add something to the roster.

SMALL FORWARDS
Jeff Wall will likely spend some time with us, although declining quickly. Themba Sebe is one of our superstars, a brilliant replacement. No great alternatives, not critical however as we will play with specialized players

TALL MEN
Wagana, Mtolo, Magubana are deskilling. Motihala is the other superstar we have and one of our starters with Galvin.Mazibuko, Hlomelang, Moonsamy add depth to the roster, hoping that Namuswa will grow as planned.

Bottom line: we have a team, not a deep bench but reasonably good to ensure some competitiveness even in next two seasons. I don't have visibility of current U21 players, so I will be in touch with the new coach to complete the roster. We are turning the corner, although the very small footprint will always be critical unless community will dramatically grow, not happened in BB-decades...

first match is against Espana, #6 in the world, with 6 players above 200k salary (one on sale) and "mister 350K"!

I called only one over 30, Mtolo, to have 10 players in the roster and 5 tall men. All other over 30 will be reconsidered as soon as we'll join Consolation, to evaluate deskilling.

although I paid attention and worked as I usually did for all my mandates, TS dropped to 4 as I would have released players after the cutover, things that I didn't. I will check, however it's irrelevant considering our opponent.
