Curious what the Australian community thinks of the second team feature? Details found on the latest News post by Marin.

Would you like it (with caveats)? Why? I voted yes in the main thread but am still reasonably unsure.

What country would people go to? I naturally thought of New Zealand. I'm mainly interested in training people in different ways.

Poll:  Do you want the second team feature?

Yep

I've often thought I would like to have a second Australian team, just to see how I would go starting the game now, rather than in season 2! Not sure I would be particularly interested in having a second team in another nation though, nor in having the Australian league flooded by overseas users.

with 2 teams you could always have one team trying to win and one team training (best of both worlds). It would help smaller countries as I'm sure plenty of managers would be happy to set up a second team as a farm team if they weren't overly interested.
Having the 2nd team in another country just seems odd, I'm really not sure of why it is even needed other than if both of someones teams got to Div 1. In that case put them in opposite conferences so it is only 1 game they could possibly rig and/or force both teams to play base/m2m, no GDP, and the same lineup as the previous game to try to ensure it is even (just made that up, dunno of it is a good idea or not)

There would be too many farm teams if you were allowed to create a second team in the same country. Imagine the Chinese U21 and NT...

I like it a lot.

1. Means for Australia we have more teams in Div IV which will hopefully put an end to teams starting in Div III or promoting before having built any arena and only buying a bunch of 10k players which win easy vs bots.

2. Means we have more experienced coaches who are committed to the game drafting and then training players for our NT sides.

3. I would not mind starting again and seeing how I go with a bit more knowledge. I would be keen to get into a micro nation and to help out training guys for their teams.

Must admit, I was thinking the same thing - just let the team in the same country. I guess aside from the one game they would play each other, there is a bit of a risk that teams could manipulate results (such as CTing a team with their second team that is close in the standings with their first team) etc. But I guess if you are good enough to get two teams in the top division, you deserve a reward!

Not concerned about farm teams to be honest. Mainly because I wouldn't mind seeing a few farm teams here! And it may have the result of leveling up the competition, considering I expect China already has farm teams, whereas we really don't.

China already has a number of farm teams and it makes them the best, most other countries probably have one or two. While allowing a second team would also allow the chinese to have more farm teams I think they already get most of their best talent so would see only a marginal increase whereas Australia would see a significant jump in its talent level.

For example, imagine if 10 Aus managers had a second team purely as a farm team. They have saved money over a number of seasons and have 1.5 mil each. This season 5 of them buy stud 18yo's, next season the other 5 do the same, and this is on top of the other draftees who are kept by their managers. Imagine the depth well organised countries would now have.

A secondary team couldn't be a farm team. Read the forum post about the proposed rules:

2. Country restriction: Secondary teams cannot play in the same country nor buy players from the primary team's original country.

which is a good thing

but people could do deals with other nations.

NT manager in country A gets a 10 managers to set up teams to train in country B
and then NT Manager of Country B gets 10 to do the same in country A

I know, that is under the proposed rules, but we kind of moved on to without some of the caveats as they are either too restrictive or don't make a lot of sense. Clearly the above highlighted rule is to prevent farm teams, however I think would actually be one of the big selling points of being allowed a second team

Those are some of the cons that could happen. People will always try to develop ways to get around a loop hole.

People who do not have supporter will contemplate now whether to pay that ~$40 for chance to start in a new country. This will bring in a bit more revenue for BB to help grow the game.

The question is whether I want to make a second team in a micro nation or a big nation like USA. I'll probably prefer USA over a micro nation. More competition, and more sense of achievement if I ever make it from div5 to div1.
