This is a trend I pointed out in a press release last season when I won the III.1 title, but I think it bears repeating in here as it might spark a discussion in this 'inactive so far this season' league forum. This trend started back in season 21/22 and looks likely to continue this season as well, unless Jerries manages to lose a home game to Melbourne Redbacks again :P. The trend is as follows...
Whichever team loses the best-of-three championship series in one season, will then go on to win the championship the following season. So far, this trend has held true for four straight seasons;
Sand Dune Scorpions lost to Pittura Rosso two games to one in the season 21 finals, then defeated Moosas Mad Man two games to nil in season 22... who in turn defeat Springvale Shaquilles two games to one in season 23... then Springvale defeat You Should've Dunked two games to nil in season 24... and finally, my team pulls off the upset on Jerries two games to one in season 25.
If this trend continues, expect Jerries to win this season, with the winner of the Great 8 conference (likely either FlyBallers or Coin Collectors) then becoming the heir apparent for season 27.
