first off, congratulations to Joe for once again defending his BBBL title. Maybe the Belgian GM's should look into Joe's team to be sure that the cowboys aren't the second team of BC Törööö (the only other manager with a track record that is even remotely close to the one that Joe has).

I'd also like to welcome back Estrellas Absurdas, BBC Falco Gent and Obira Dragons (and my own teams) who all have been in the BBBL on multiple occasions in the past. Best of luck to the new promovendi!

truth be told, i think organizing a poll about who will get demoted is more useful than one about who will win the championship. However, such a poll would be distasteful, not to mention, disrespectful towards several teams. Hence, i've decided to change the poll a bit.

Vottem Cowboys has got 2 core players who have gone over their expiration date and thus will be in a 'rebuild' mode (yet still far superior to most teams). That means that this could be the season for someone new to step forward and win the title. The bigger question is, will the red conference maintain their BBBL dominance or will the blue conference finally be able to break up the streak of consecutive titles that the red conference has gathered (it currently stands at 14). I would like everyone to ask to motivate their answer, as to provide some more material to debate and to have a more active forum.

Just to be clear:
*) the first time winner means that the team hasn't won a BBBL title yet.
*) those thinking that the blue conference will be able to celebrate their first title in 15 seasons, should take option 4.

Poll:  Will a team from the red conference win the title again?

yes and it will be the 'rebuilding' Vottom Cowboys
yes, but it will be a brief Mizu dominance
yes and it will be a first time winner
No, the red supremacy has come to an end

And just to make sure that i'm setting a good example: i've voted for option 3 because i think that this season will be the season where the Spartans will prove to us why they are often referred to as the strongest amongst the greece cities.

Claeys should be finished. Marichal is arguably the most well rounded guard of the NT and with Vaes, whom i expect is shaping up nicely, they have a very strong Belgium core. Add to that some good other players and it's easy to see why i've got such high expectations of this team.

the reason i don't believe that Mizu will win is because Bill Weeks has reached his expiration date, who was a key player for Mizu in the past. Weeks will still be strong, but from first hand experience, a 34y old will lose about 1 skill per week. Mizu has a Trio who are 30 and needs to start considering replacements, so i'm expecting to see some moves. Mizu hasn't got the roster to compete in the cup for a long while aswell as getting 2 victories on a weekly basis in the league and thus i'm backing the spartans to win their first BBBL title this season. Joe's team is still formidable, but i'm expecting him to throw some games to train the replacement of Mees, Vercaigne (and possibly backaert as well altho he still has 2 seasons left in the tank).

Furthermore, i'd also like to mention that altho i have freshly been promoted to the BBBL, it feels like a demotion already. the difference between the top 5 teams and the promovendi is just to big and thus i'm expecting that maybe Angi might be able to challenge for the 5th spot, but most likely scenario is that the promovendi of the red conference will be fighting for HCA in the regulation games.

Second Team:
Eupen Scythe
I don't think the cowboys will lose their crown at the end of the season.

His main opponents (in our conference, so namely Q and myself) are more likely to drop than to keep on fighting, at least I speak for myself - wages have gone up horribly, over 800 k / week which is very hard to sustain unless you win titles ; which is something neither of us have achieved.

I must think of the team and it's survival, or I'll slowboat towards bankruptcy trying to fight off opponents way out of my league.

Future is very uncertain ; I'm thinking of keeping all 3 bright belgian players (Marichal, Claeys and Vaes) + my AS, and tanking one or two seasons - They have quality enough to make sure I could make it to the play-downs and make a further stay in BBBL, waiting to ambush whenever an oppotunity to meet success opens up. That would make sense.

Problem is, players like Manyoki are hearthbreaking to part with :/

You can put me up for #8 spot :)
Like I've written in my press report, I'm expecting to go down.
I've just sold my last foreign player (my starting C) and I'm going to rebuild.
