Well, i play BB since 2009 but at this moment i'm seriously thinking in quit the game when this season ends. The best in the game it's train your players and try win with them, at least for me and i believe for the most people, and in this moment that's impossible in BB. In the last season i win the league and the cup in Portugal, but to do that i had to sell all of my trainees, bought a new team and train game shape every week, was the only way i arranged to win the league. The fastest way of win in BB now it's buy a bunch of old players and train game shape, and it seems that most teams are doing it, this way those who train their players can't fight for the win because de game shape always makes the difference, in my opinion that's one of the causes for killing bb now (number of players abruptly decreased). Even in Utopia are people only buying old players and train game shape.

The other thing it's the game engine. I think there are many things that can be improved.
In first place, the enthusiasm has a strong influence. In second i think there should be a way of punishing the teams who don't want to compete, the teams that every week use they second team in one game, that teams usually give up of the games against the stronger teams which makes even easier for them win matchs. One example, i'm one of the most strong teams in Portuguese League and there are teams that when play against me give up, don't try to win. For example:
(69312637)
(69312629)

That's ridiculous, in the real life the teams don't give up against others, and this affects the integrity of the league, because in the end this benefits some teams, if i'm a strong team and everyone give up against me i will take it easy in every game further increasing the difference. For example if i'm on the blue side of my division and in my side there are 2 ou 3 teams that give up with frequency and in the other side there are only 1 team what makes this, i will be in advantage to take HCA vs teams of the red side. I don't think that's fair.
I give you an example, in NBA the Spurs make some players rest and where punished for that. I think a possible solution would be lower ticket revenues for the next games, even the cup would gain new interest because the teams of lower divisions would have better chance vs teams of top divisions.

Finally the game engine, the inside game continues to dominate i don't think this will change honestly, and that makes the game boring. If i have to use always the same strategy to win the game loses it's fun. One solution could be the increasing of diference attached to the LI in guards. Right now the difference between a guy with 3 in IS and 7 is not very significative the diference in efetiveness should be higher making guards with 4 or less in IS pretty much useless in LI as they should be and therefore lowering the efetiveness of LI in a big number of teams making some people to start playing other options as well. Other solution would be reducing the wage associated to the shot rang skill in my opinio.

These are some things that made me lose the desire of play BB, the training should be the best way of have sucess but instead people only buy old players and train game shape, look inside still dominates, and the leagues are not competitive, only 2 ou 3 teams want to win, the others every week give up in some games. Something needs to be done to save BB.
I still love this game, and i hope that i can regain desire to play it.
Best Regards, Jonas.

I totally agree with you. I joined just recently, but I had been playing this game for several years starting in 2008. As I can see now, not only the game still has the same problems it had that long time ago, it also has quite a lot of new ones and those you talk about are the worst. What struck me most is that now there is about half of the users compared to the time I quit the game for the first time. I could write about that a lot, but I think that the result would be the same as it was three years ago - no one would care, nothing would change (as there are not many good changes for last four years) and I would get the same type of response I had gotten then: "if you don't like it, don't play it". Well developers, you can see where that attitude led the game so far. You have half of the users you had and you try to earn your money by creating "Utopia" despite the fact it totally ruins in-game economics.

1. As for the old guy/game shape training strategy, I agree 100%. I suggested in another thread that if you really wanted to keep game shape training you could just have its effectiveness tied to the player's age exactly like training any other non-team skill. That would kill the old guy strategy while keeping the option open to teams that invested in young guys. But aside from that, yes GS training needs to go.

2. In real life tanking does happen. The most profitable team in baseball last year was actually the Houston Astros (seriously!) They had a league worst record of 51-111. Their payroll was so low that 64 individual players made more than the entire Astros team. This year they are developing prospects and will have a crap ton of cash to buy stars. They will also get more high picks this year. If they play it right, by next year they will be a scary team for years to come.

And in all sports, when a team knows they are not going to make the playoffs, the subs get starts. I've seen pro basketball teams field a D league team that looked so awful that I doubt they could beat most top tier Div I college teams. It just so happens that in BB we know our playoff chances within a few games. In fact, I'd say that BB's second biggest detriment (to the GS/old guy problem) is the fact that games are too predictable. It is impossible to have a cinderella team. Now I'm not saying that games should be completely random but there should be at least some chance that the lesser team can win on a more consistent basis.

3. I can't speak for all leagues but in mine the outside game is dominating. I think it varies league to league. Interior defences are tough and big range players are taking over. All but three of our league's current top 10 scorers are jacking up a significant number of 3pt shots each game.

im only in my 3rd season in BB, but i noticed also a pattern that the first team to call a full time out loses.
i fully agree with the gamer and jonas in the points they pointed out as they had a long experience in playing thies game.
BB Gms should infuse more randomness in the games to ensure that all teams in similar leagues can competitively win a gmae week in and week out, we need more upsets based on tactics and also if possible a change or 2 during the game itself. this will reward coaches who tune in live to their games. Right now strong team's coaches can view their games on a delayed basis since they knew they will win. if in game changes can happen like in substitution patterns t, and revision of defense, say from 3-2 zone to man to man or full court press will make the game more fun

Well, I got to agree with my portuguese mate here, as a training lover, gameshape training is killing the game, and you should think about it for next season. I also agree that outside offense need a boost. A guy with 20 jumpshot and 12 jump range seems as good as a guy with 19 js and 16 jr when shooting 3's. As jumpranget is so expensive, I think it should give more.
As for the teams that opt puting the bench players, I understand your frustration, but since we got game shape on bb, we got to think on player minutew per week, and if we are weaker, we choose to use our starters on 2 games we shoul win, and let the probable loose come against the best team in the league :p

I can't say any of these issues bother me as much as you, but I get it. I'm wondering if you'd get more traction on your issues if you had made separate threads for each issue.

The fastest way of win in BB now it's buy a bunch of old players and train game shape (...) in my opinion that's one of the causes for killing bb now
I understand the game shape thing. It would be more fair if getting better game shape was only possible through minute management. Perhaps by simply removing game shape training as suggested in this thread (258172.1) would alleviate your concerns.

That being said, I think buying old players should be a legit strategy for trying to win quickly. NBA teams do it all the time, not always with success. Perhaps BuzzerBeater is out of balance though, I'm not certain.

I give you an example, in NBA the Spurs make some players rest and where punished for that. I think a possible solution would be lower ticket revenues for the next games, even the cup would gain new interest because the teams of lower divisions would have better chance vs teams of top divisions.
I definitely agree with you. Teams tank in real life. That being said, you generally don't see games with an 80 point margin of victory, which you do see in BB. Even in the finals, you'll see the superior team tank a game by 80 points, to get one last home game. Imagine that happened in the NBA Finals? People would lose it. I have no issue with their being a harsh penalty for it in terms of ticket revenue.

look inside still dominates
When I look at Look Inside, it still seems overpowered in terms of how many shots are taken where and the shot percentages in those locations. That being said, I don't think everyone has adjusted and trained for shot blocking changes, salary formula changes and game-day tactic guessing. I am concerned that if you continue to make changes that we'll swing too far in the other direction.

...creating "Utopia" despite the fact it totally ruins in-game economics.
That's temporary. It was a one time influx of demand on the lower end of the transfer market. Once those teams get stronger and a greater diversity emerges the market will level off.

GS training removal - A must, do it immediately.

Blank lineup removal - would increase the fun, but I would think it through.

It is temporary but its not a one time thing. Due to the promotion system the first seasons the number of promotions will be very high, and with each promotion there is a prize money associated to it, therefore injecting even more money in the game

About only 1 point of OP, I am just going to say this:

"Game shape" training is the cancer of this game. It must be removed as soon as possible.

Also, it should be a training combination of free throws and stamina, obviusly weaker than train them separately.
