After ages spent on BB some aspects of this game are still a mistery for me... I tried to build a team unpredictable having good shooters from 3 points, the results were quite acceptable, today I need to find again new players and checking the TL there are some interesting players, someone with great JR + JS, HA and driving, you can check by yourself to avoid unecessary advertising. Well, if you see their % on 3 points these are really bad, one has 0,125 but his salary is not bad at all
Another one has good skills including a nice IS. What do you think about having a roster dedicated to outside attack? Which are the skills to have a player with a nice score on 3 points?

Back when I first played in seasons 11 through... I think 14 or 15, I ran a team based about 90% out of Run n Gun, never making it past Div IV in those seasons. The big thing for an outside oriented team is defense. Like, I'm setting up a team that can use just about any offensive scheme, and so far, my focus training has been mostly pressure and ID, with a week of JS and a Week of PA so far this season, but almost entirely pressure, because OD is crucial on the guard trainees, and I've kept an eye out for decently priced players on the TL with good ID, because when it all comes down to it, outside offenses are really about exploiting your opponents' weaknesses and making sure that you don't have weaknesses defensively.

so you suggest to have players with 20 in OD and ID with "low" attack skills? That's what I'm trying to do right now but probably at the moment I've too low defense and attack skills; btw at this point JR is useless?

Danke. About your NT player for sure he's a great player but if you check the matches in B3 his % in 3 points shoots are low, on the average of all the other players so maybe Singapore doesn't have a lot of players with high OD.
I agree with you about the importance of having OD but at this point it's hard to have an "outside" team if you consider the balance results vs salary. I see quite "easy" to stop the outside attack, it's much more difficult to build a team able to stop the look inside.

the construction of your team is something really interesting for me. You are using OD to prevent the shoots of the centers but on the other hand is unclear why OD wins against IS, JS and JR. You can't have a player strong in defense and in attack at the same level so you need to make a choice about the level of the skills; when you play against strong teams I suppose they have players with high level of IS and JS but some teams have also high levels in the defenses so when you've a 15 JS against a 15 or more OD I don't see any reason to win. I mean you can have lvl 20 in OD and you will stop a lot of offensive actions but when you've the ball your "weak" shooters have to face the OD of your opponent so as OD works for you, it should works for your opponents too. Where I'm wrong?

The simple reason OD wins against inside scoring is that it helps prevent the assisted shot, which high scoring big men convert at an extremely high percentage. I find that if your men guarding the big man have good OD, the number of uncontested shots drops and therefore so do points against. It also naturally helps with forcing turnovers against the big men who are still walking around to this day with inept handling / awful passing. If you can steal some possessions from your opponents by forcing turnovers, reduce their shooting percentage further by having the OD on your big men, your offensive target to hit suddenly is much lower than it would be otherwise. Combine that with not turning the ball over much yourself and good rebounding, and you should have plenty more opportunities to score than your opposition, and so even with a lower shooting percentage you can still quite often win.
