Hey Guys, first post here, I've played before about 2 years ago for about 4-5 months, and then took a break. Now getting back into the swing of things. I do have this Center though. 18 yr old kid and I was wondering how I should go about training him based on his stats currently. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. (I've been here since Sunday btw) Also, would you recommend when doing a specific skill training such as Jump Shot or Rebounding for example, is it better to stick with 1-3 position(s) training, or the full team training? Thanks again.

Thank you for the reply, I greatly appreciate it, but just one question for OD. I would only be able to train that with Pressure but that's for PG, SG, and SF.. And this player is a C.

Yeah, that is true but you will have to set him playing as a PG. I would recommend you to train pressure for PG position only so that your trainee gets about ~65 minutes as a PG every week.

You only have to play 48 minutes to get the full benefit of training. But yes, do single position training. Doing multiple position training takes much longer, the only time I would ever recommend doing multi-position training is if you do not have a specific trainee who you are training. The OPs focus should be on training this player right now due to his age and potential, even at the cost of wins.

Training out of position will help in the long run, it also will allow you to be creative with tactics as your player develops. I have a SF I am training who had skills around 10 at nearly every skill, he was very valuable when I was at D4 because I could run odd lineups and switch up my tactics. This player would still be a productive player running look inside when I was training him at PG and motion or patient when he was at C. I still do this a bit at D3 (in my first season at D3), but it is not as effective. That said, I will be happy I trained him this way when he is a stud SF who is hopefully helping me get to D2 in a couple seasons.

Yes, I know 48 mins is enough for the training but I suggested 65 mins to get good GS. :)

So from what I'm reading it's what I thought.. I would have to play my C 48 minutes as a PG to be able to increase his Outside Defense? If so this would most likely be best during scrimmages, correct? My friend and I have agreed to help each other out by scrimmaging each week for now so that we make sure any good young players get minutes in. After a while of course we'll switch to heavier competition. Oh and I forgot to reply to a part of another statement on here. I do have a level 4 trainer (advanced). But, is a level 4 career extension trainer better than a regular level 4 trainer? Or is the specialty just like an "added bonus" ?

Your trainer will slow down the rate at which skills deteriorate for players 32 and older, other than that he is a normal L4 trainer.

As far as when to play your C at PG, you could play him during scrimmages only, but you run the risk of him fouling out or getting subbed (even if you list him at all three PG slots), I would recommend playing him as a backup for one game where you either have a favorable matchup or are clearly outmatched. Then try to fill the remaining 48 during the scrimmage.

Good luck, he is a gem of a trainee. Especially with his height and respectable OD.

I do have another trainee. It is also an MVP potential, but PF. He's a year older. Should I post his stats too to know how to train him?
