In leagues across the USA, managers are taking it upon themselves to make sure that the scourge of bot infestation does not spread. By setting up neighborhood botwatches in leagues everywhere, managers are taking it upon themselves to protect their leagues from the boredom of bot-stomping.
In a press conference, the movement's leader, rhyminsimon, had this to say: "We're doing this for the players. We want to make a better world for our cyberguys. We want to make sure they know the games they play will not be lame or inconsequential because of managers abandoning their duties unnecessarily. We want the our leagues to be a safe environment for players to grow up in."
Then he announced that the scourge had already claimed one franchise in IV.28. Team Scheming suffered through 6 full economic updates without activity (the threshold) and went bot earlier in the season. With the loss of management at this franchise, and the introduction of a one log-in noob squad that quickly went bot, too, the overall quality of league play has suffered.
But this is only the beginning! There is danger that this may happen again! Massachusetts Minis haven't logged in for 13 days, and without a log in will go bot July 21. And it's been 18 days for Big Dawgs, which means their bot date is July 14.
Reach out to your fellow managers! Encourage them to stay connected to the game! Let them know that there will be public shaming if they let their team go bot. Become part of the USA IV.28 Neighborhood Botwatch! (And most importantly keep your name off of the Wall of Shame.)
