This is not Buzzerbeater related, but i assume most you you play this game because you like to play basketball or even possibly coach it. I have a really good shot, but i do not use the shooting mechanics that my coaches teach me, I NEVER point my feet toward the basket and i NEVER shoot straight up and down and I rarely ever stare at the rim, but my shot is money.

How do you guys shoot a basketball? In you point of view, what is the correct way to shoot and why?

I do everything right but somehow I shoot a basketball left.
I guess it was because I started shooting underhand and worked my way up.
I think everyone started at the beginning shooting underhand.
My dad coaches me for my team.

What do you mean when you do everything "right"?
Are you a left-handed or right-handed shooter?

I throw a baseball with my right and I write with my right but, I shoot a basketball left handed.

I have the same dillemma as you. My shot goes in too but my mechanics is really flawed. You know how you're told to shoot for the legs, I shoot with my arms and I shoot from my chest but it works. I've tried so hard to change it but when you get thousands of reps shooting a certain way, to change it is very difficult. Even when I shot in a fundamentally sound way, anytime it didn't go in, I found myself going back and shooting like I used to. It's very tough to change how you shoot, I guess.

I play as a PF/C for a competitive team and my shot has gotten much better since getting coached the proper way to shoot by two previous university players who were some of the best shooters in CIS basketball a few years ago.

Proper fundamentals - feet facing the basketball, shooting hand foot in front a little, shoot with one hand and use the other balance, right bend in the elbow, follow through after shooting.
