Were back with season 28 of the NT. We've drawn an ok draw in the repacharge, so we'll give it our best shot.

The team is being picked now. If you have a player that you feel is in with a shot, feel free to drop me a bbmail

Probably going to be a bit constrained with writeups this season, since I can't actually watch the games due to the crappy time slot!

Anyways, we won the first game of the repacharge reasonably comfortably. Our inside presence and rebounding got us over the line, despite shooting pretty poorly from the foul line.

Game two on Tuesday morning - a win there will probably get us through to the world cup.

Darby Walters medal

3. Dylan Scoggins. Last season's winner continues to impress. Spurred on by his club teams determination to sell him, Scoggins dropped 23 points on just 12 FG attempts. Handy.

2. Brent Degas. The PG orchestrated the offense masterfully, picking up 9 assists.

1. Emori Faletoese. Only played minimal minutes, but racked up 12 points on perfect FG shooting.

Rudolph Radford medal

3. Steve Riemers. The opposing SGs barely scored, and Steve picked up a couple of steals as well.

2. Leigh Reiffel. Did a nice job shutting down the opposing SFs, and did a decent job on the glass for a SF as well.

1. Sushant Pradip. Wasn't amazing defensively, but giving our rebounding issues last season, I've gotta give a vote to the guy who dominated the defensive glass.

Jackson Mansfield Medal leaderboard

3. Riemers; Scoggins
2. Degas; Rieffel
1. Faletoese; Pradip

Is GS issues keeping Anderson out of playing minutes? What is he on the depth level when we are at full strength?

Yeah, the drop to average gameshape because of his sale kept him out this week. He is definitely starting 12 all else equal - but we have pretty good depth in bigs, so if his gameshape is poor, he doesn't play.

Tough luck on the loss to Suomi.

Looks like we were in the game until late

Is that loss the end of us in the repechage?

Essentially, yes. We could still make it mathematically, but alot would need to go right.

disappointing loss, but Suomi were the better team. That said, having only 2 fts for the whole game despite playing inside must be some sort of record...

We got 2 points from free throws versus there 23 points from free throws.

At least our team had a higher shooting percentage from the free throw line.

I think that they played a PF at SF, but given that we played man to man this doesnt appear to have hurt us with fouls judging by the box score.

Surprisingly Degas, Shishaev, Reimers and Walker put up 47 shots between them whilst we were playing an inside offense.

Reimers put up 5 x 3 point shots and only hit one of them

Were their guards able to stop us from passing inside to our bigs thus causing us to take poor quality shots near the end of the shot clock ?

Who knows. Given both our OD and offensive flow was higher than theirs, you'd think it would be the other way around, but whatever

Despite my best efforts, Venezuela tied their game against suomi, so as a result we fail to progress from the repacharge (interestingly, they only lost by 4 points - they would have been a pretty strong chance to go through themselves if they had a serious dip, but thems the breaks).

I'll assess how we'll approach the consol tourney once thw schedule is out, but I'll likely bring some young blood into the team at some point.
