Guys, I understand that you want perks for being on the supporter list but adding friends should be universal! Gimmie a break, this is a global social network. Friends are the whole reason we are here. You want me to refer friends but we can't connect on the site?! This is just a little insight; it's highly unlikely that people will get supporter for that reason, it's more likely that they will quit instead.

I would fix this.

I don't agree with this. You are still clearly able to bbmail and communicate with your friends on here, and if you disagree, then you are mistaken. One of the Supporter features is to simply see when they are online. Doesn't change that much, honestly. If it is this too big of a deal for you, I would recommend getting Supporter and then you can not only see when your friends are online, but you can also make a PL for you and your friends and make a federation for you and your friends. Seems worth it to me, but I suppose people have different tastes. I also simply buy supporter to help BB out, but all the features we get are pretty sweet. ^_^ Maybe you will come around.

Phyr- You are on my Buddy List if that makes you feel better. ;)

I'd think it was easier to just not have friends. ;)

Lol. What if I said you were wrong? Do I win then? It is important to have a buddy list if for the only reason to play scrimmage games. An endless supply of scrimmage games. Mmmmmmmm. Games.

I would add you to my buddy list if I could. You can contact me anytime, for any reason.

Its funny when i read this, because i didn't really think of the friends list (or Buddy List) as a social networking type of feature, but as a new user I could see how this would be used.

So just for the record, i don't use the buddy list for my buddies on BuzzerBeater - My buddies are in my league, or i know which leagues they are in and I just communicate through the forums with them.

Or we formed a federation, so we use that. I don't know of too many user's that use the Buddy List as a 'social networking' type feature, but there are probably users who do.

sooooo yer, i don't use it. Should it be a Supporter feature only? mmmmmm..... maybe? Not sure. I dont see why it has to be. I dont see it as a game changer though.

Even just to speak with other people from around your country or make new friends from other places. It could also be used to keep in touch with U21 or NT managers.
So many reasons but all in the name of social networking on a site that brings together people from everywhere.
The buddy list is a basic feature on all sites. It's an automatic. Like the #5 on your phone.

Its a feature that is on social networking sites, like facebook, LinkedIn, MySpace etc etc.

Its not a feature of ALL websites, particularly forum based internet sites, which BB is more focused towards.

Most community 'forum' based websites do not have a 'friends' based thing unless you are a paid/logged in member. StackExchange is a really good example of this, where you can join StackExchange or loging via your FB account, much like this website, such that adding friends is a members only feature.

BB allows you to login via your facebook account - im not sure if this automatically links your FB friends that on BB as well, so you might want to check that out to see if this satisfies your friend-ing requirement. I haven't logged in via my FB account, so i can't comment too much on this.

Just because a site has a forum page does not make it a forum based site.
A forum page or FAQ or a place like a community page is also a basic feature.
This is not a forum based site, it's a game. Games have buddy's.
This site even promotes a social aspect as you try to play against managers from everywhere and 'collect' flags.
Please don't get caught up in the semantics of 'all'. I'm sure anyone could find an opposite example. I'm sure I can find many more that support me. Like Urban Rivals comes to mind.
Friend lists are basic features.
I'm not on Facebook so I wouldn't know either.
