Ever want a player but the auction ends at 3am your time and you can't be there to bid on him.

Well now that Buzzer Beaters is introducing the Maximum Reserve Bid you never have to worry again. Just go ahead and enter your maximum bid and walk away knowing that your bid will automatically increase incrementally to your maximum. You never have to worry that you will not get the player for the cheapest possible price and you don't have to worry that you don't get to enter the most you'd pay for a player. (Same way that Ebay works)
Don't worry, you can still bid as normal if you like, this is just another way to make sure you have a shot at the player or staff member you want. Let's look at an example.

Ted is scouring the TL looking for a 19yo MVP SF when he finds Max Bid for sale. Ted places his bid as usual but he also enters a larger number in the box marked Maximum Reserve Bid. $35,000 is his price (because everyone has a price) and Ted closes his computer to get a good nights sleep knowing that he will keep bidding. Wait, Stacey has also entered $35,000 for Max. Who get's the last bid? That can be answered by who entered the bid first. If Ted placed his bid at 12:00:00 and Stacey placed her bid at 11:59:59, Stacey would get Max for $35,000 (all times zones would be based on Boston time because, that's how BB rolls!).

Now Ted, Stacey, and you never have to worry about bidding on a player or staff member again!

I think you posted this reply to the wrong thread. Even though I posted both suggestions, LS is another topic and I believe we should keep things separate. You wouldn't post a Training answer to a Scrimmage thread.

When you said 'this would be nice, but not that nice' were you referring to the MRB? If so, we can agree to disagree as I think a majority of the players would really like to be able to enter a bid and not have to watch the clock, no matter what the specific reason they aren't able to bid when the auction ends. Again I would reference EBay's auction system.

Ted and Stacey need to stop being cheap, and pay what the player is worth.

If having the Reserve Bid for players is a problem, can we have it for staff?
The staff aren't being sold by players and you can't bid on another staff member of the same type until you've been outbid.
There should be no issue with adding this feature to staff.

So at the moment, you can actually do this.

If you see a player that you like, listed for $1

and you think he is worth buying for $100k. Then you can just place a bid at $100k

No difference to the idea of setting a maximum reserve.

If someone else comes along after you place your bid, and places a higher bid, then you don't get him. Just like your description with the maximum reserve.

The only difference is that there is no 'automatic incremental' that takes place.

Unfortunately its the nature of auctions. Not just in BB, but in real life! which sux, cause id love to buy a house in Detroit somewhere for $10.
