So after Sid posted Quincy on the transfer market i thought. mhmmm. passing abit low, and out of curiosity, went to buzzer-manager salary estimator to play around with the stats

If I used a Quincy-type player, but simplify it.... Marvelous everything (for a guard)..., except Prominent JR and Tremendous Passing, ....

then

every single increase in the following stats, adds X amount of salary. just rounded numbers.

JS - $2k
JR - $3k
OD - $5k
HD - $4k
DR - $2k
PS - $8k

errr sorry, let me check that again. From Tremendous to Wondrous passing, its $8k. From Wondrous to Marv, its $9k

what.....

the.....

FUDGE!

Passing is painful salary-wise for a point guard. But it adds no salary for other players (including SGs). So most players should have at least a bit of passing, its basically a free kick.

But yeah, I wouldn't recommend trying to get a guy to legendary passing...

i just find it a bit ridiculous though. compared to say a PF - ALL of his primaries skills would go up $10k at that level,

a bit bizarre IMO.

Riviera played 3 scrimmages for the Australian National Team, but missed out on being a regular in the National Team because the NT Manager at the time though his passing was too low.

Sully Tully played more games for Australia than what Riviera did and whilst he had better passing and a lot higher salary than what Riviera did, I will always believe that Riviera was the better player.

Over the seasons Riviera in the ABBL has gone head to head against the likes of Walker and Degas whos salaries were around twice what Rivieras was and in my eyes at least always broke even with them

Its not soooo bad if you think about it in the context of a combo guard, straddling the PG/SG line. Jr adds little to a pg salary, and passing nothing to a SG salary, so you can have a level of each for 10k combined at the levels you are talking about, which is reasonable.

To be honest, the real issue for me is the salary of OD. Should be as expensive as passing, which would stop people going with super od guards and maybe make outside tactics viable. But thats an issue for another thread...

I've been looking at this sort of stuff a lot lately as i am training bigs with passing. Looking like i will roll out a prod passing PG but then have Sensational or trem on my SG & SF and trem for PF and strong for my C.

Hoping that from a salary perspective it will make my team very efficient and not prone to turnovers and also make my bigs get decent shots without prohibitive salaries for my 2 guards

just FYI my numbers mentioned previously, were from a PG perspective only.

Just crunched some numbers on my bigs.

Just added 4 pops of Passing on my big man Driscoll, added $1k salary LOL

Another 4 pops... <$1k

so yer, i dont think salary will be a problem for your big men. Its probably a good thing to train from a big man perspective, because it trains faster the taller the player is. (which in IMO is wrong, but meh).

Yup. Plus it trains handling and driving reasonably quickly as well. Its a brilliant skill to train for a big.

I'm holding off doing passing training atm as I want to get a new big to train and give it to him from day one while I finish off my Gs. Give him heaps of passing is the way to go.
