you can find the link in coach regan's post, so it was a thread previously discussed.

as was mentioned in that linked the triangle emphasizes passing and cuts, thus in the BB world to have a team that is effective in the traingle, you must have good passing big men, guards who are not necessarily drivers but good spot up shooters, especially in the corners where the first guard positions after passing to the post.

the ball is passed around the post, wing and corner upto the time that an open shot presents itself.
the 2 "weak side" offensive players reads the defense and when the defense focuses on the strong side, they make a back door cut or rotate at the top of the key for an open jumper ( the steve kerr championship winning shot for the bulls came from this top of the circle rotation)

Its sort of a shortened princeton offense in BB and more defined than the motion offense. the triangle in BB will have more medium range shots, thus if you create a triangle offense in BB you need good passing bigs, jump shooters with not so great jump range and a terrific SG / SF that will bail your offense it everything is well defended ( ala MJ, Scottie, Kobe)

Based on this:

the ball is passed around the post, wing and corner upto the time that an open shot presents itself.

It sounds like the pace would be slower than normal.

the triangle in BB will have more medium range shots

The focus would be midrange/inside then?

So, very close to a Princeton, like you said. According to the manual, Princeton is "outside/inside focus (fewer 2 point jump shots, regarded as outside by GDP), decreased pace." So, I would think that where Princeton is regarded as Outside focus, slow pace, Triangle would be inside focus, slow pace as far as the GDP. The actual gameplay would be a bit like Low Post, but with a better balance between midrange and inside shots. Three pointers would be as rare as they are currently in Low Post and Look Inside.

What defenses would counter the Triangle?
