I have called them D-pops as I have seen them referred to as both 'down-pops' and 'de-pops' so 'D-pops' seems appropriate.

I have started this thread in the hope of getting some thoughts and info on a theory I have regarding d-pops. My theory is simple: I believe that the d-pops aren't random and, perhaps because of the coding, d-pop in a specific order. The order of these d-pops is different for each player, regardless of position (PG, SG, PF etc) and occurs, I believe, in reverse order to their training. That is, if the last skill pop a given player had was an OD pop then this would be the first d-pop when they reach a certain age and begin deteriorating. If the second last skill pope was a JS pop then that would be the second d-pop and so on...

I stress that this is a theory and would love some thoughts and evidence to reinforce or refute this. I think the only way this can be verified (other than managers who have actually seen this and noted it previously) is if managers have trained a certain player, kept them on their roster, and then seen them age and d-pop. Keeping in mind that training records can be viewed to check d-pops there may be some managers out there who could confirm or refute this theory.

Thanks in advance.

Mr Green

Alcide groppo dropped 2 weeks into his 33rd year and it was passing.

BUT im 99% sure his last pop was in handling when was 32.. I think I posted this in the Wombat training forum so ill confirm.

my opinion though is that its not revrse order of training good theory but I think its something different.

Gafa age 44, had for 25 seasons.
Sutton, age 55, had for 26 seasons.
Brosque, age 51, had for 26 seasons.
Christie, age 45, had for 26 seasons.
Bassum, age 43, had for 9 seasons.
Mateushev, age 41, had for 7 seasons.
Then there's Malaga, who is 34 and starting to drop.

I reckon I win

On topic, and from my experience, it basically seems to hit their highest skills first, which makes sense. Though I do remember Gafa hanging onto his phenom JS for quite a while even though his other skills were going to crap, so maybe there are some skills that hold out for longer than others.

I had a player whohad 3 skills the same level as highest.

Lost their 2nd highest out of position skill followed by 3 on the same of their top skill
so I have no idea about how it works.....

The theory of certain skills might hold up. Seen lots of Dpops in OD and Rebounding. We have all seen old players on the tranfer list with ok skills and very poor OD before.

Riviera and Aitkins both dropped first in jump range.

I reckon Riviera would have had 8 or so drops in a variety of other skills before he got his first skill drops in OD

Thanks Sid.

@ MIcky...you could be right but...name me one other area that is 'random' in BB? (other than the league you go into after promoting/demoting/forming). Not even DMI is random...

Pretty sure it's random. I think it has been stated before by the devs. Not going to look for it though.
